- I do not accept that the 2nd amendment creates an individual, or inalienable
- right, at all. What it describes, is a right of a STATE to maintain militias or
- irregular forces that would supplement the army! Do they maintain anything?
- Is there even a militia officer anywhere these days? The right to a have
- a weapon to defend (singular) the home, includes shift-weapons, and swords in
- some states, who claims those are inalienable rights, though? AND, I believe
- the amendment that goes "rights enumerated to the states", is in fact the
- one, not the 2nd. Also, the articles that allow the U.S to sue a state should
- it change it's common laws, also function here -- to protect gun-rights.
- So,no one needs the N.R.A.
- Before I forget, I should add that the army was in fact created with a
- thousand men, composed of 1 regiment, 8 infantry companies, and 1 battalion
- of 4 artillery companies on September 29th, 1789. One of the last acts of
- the "confederation congress", -- that's right, the army is older than the
- Bill of rights. Check an almanac, and you'll find that New Jersey became the
- 1st state to ratify the Bill of Rights on November 20th, of the same year.
- So, these archaic militias could only supplement; there was never a time when
- there were only the militias. Also, militias were not clubs. They were
- part of city, town, and regional governments. They chose you, not you chose
- them. The fact the AR15 does not fire full automatic does not help anyone. It
- can fire, as fast as one can pull the trigger. How many windows do
- you think I can kill a second with a mouse?
- All knowledge has three properties:
- It can be shared.
- It doesn't have to be accepted.
- It must be maintained with reasoning, or it fades.
- A right is something that the law describes as lawful.
- Freedom is the absence of prohibition.
- But, a right, can be described as a prohibition against the lawmaker.
- So, it is not harmless, when N.R.A slurs all gun-rights -- in any state
- -- together, and calls it "The 2nd Amendment." It is propaganda.
- What is propaganda? The design of propaganda is to corrupt knowledge by
- intending to make it problematic to maintain, and ultimately shameful to share.
- This propaganda is corruptive to the democratic process and kills
- people every day.
- "And, the good do nothing."
