- After setting up your ChromeCast, to be able to enable the installation of third party apps; you’ll need to (like on any Android device) to turn on developer options.
- On this page; I’ll show you how to enable it, and other settings to turn on or off.
- 01.) Go to your settings by clicking on the cog in the top right, go to ‘System’ and click on ‘About’
- 02.) Scroll down to the bottom where it says ‘Android TV OS Build’ and click on it 7 times until it says “No need, you are already a developer.”
- 03.) Go back to settings and go to ‘Privacy’.
- From there; go over to ‘Usage and Diagnostics’ and turn it off.
- 04.) Do the same with ‘Ads’. If you have ‘Enable debug logging for ads’ turned on; promptly turn it off.
- Optional:
- If you don’t want a sound to play when scrolling; you can turn it off in settings by going to ‘Display & Sound’, going down to ‘System sounds’ and turning it off.
- If you want your device to feel faster; you can go back into ‘Developer options’ and either turn off or set the following options to .5x:
- •‘Window animation scale’
- •‘Transition animation scale’
- •‘Animator duration scale’
