  1. DiscoDude: **---BEGIN SESSION---**
  2. DiscoDude: **Session logging commenced**
  3. GM: So, since we last left off; this merry band has given their report to The Watch House, and since then have enjoyed some downtime, whether it be getting secondary reports and other business squared away, or just some good old R&R. Now, however, most of the team is back together - even if Pick-a-Puck wound on a different team this time. It won't be a generic patrol this time, however.
  4. GM: As now the group has received a summons from the master of Bazaar Street, Mr. Smiles. Supposedly, there's been a problem of late in his area.
  5. Reality Glitch: ((I thought it was the Watchtower? XP))
  6. GM: We focus in on them now as they approach Bazaar Street proper. Pins is actually the least experienced with the area despite being the others' senior, and may need guidance.
  7. GM: (Is that okay?)
  8. Pins: ((nah, it's the Watch House; technically it's not an official gathering spot for Dream Watchers but it's basically gained currency as their common meeting spot 😉 ))
  9. Reality Glitch: ((Now that is something you *have* to let the players decide.))
  10. Pins: ((and totes))
  11. Pins: ((Pins doesn't generally go into the "scarier" parts of the dreamscape unless it's for a mission 😉 ))
  12. GM: (Yeah, I realized just as I hit enter that maybe I should let the players decide that.)
  13. Reality Glitch: ((So how much experience does Pins have with Bazaar Street?))
  14. Pins: ((Let's say she know the place by reputation but has only been there in person once or twice before.))
  15. Pins: ((she doesn't know the lay of the land, as it were))
  16. Pins: ((which changes frequently anyway because this *is* the dream world after all))
  17. Pins: ((but she doesn't know the...*landmarks,* if you will, that let people navigate regardless))
  18. GM: (So, should I describe what Bazaar Street is like, or have you guys got this?)
  19. Reality Glitch: ((http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=198375))
  20. Reality Glitch: ((Let us describe it.))
  21. GM: (Alright. I was basically signaling the start of the scene anyways.)
  22. Reality Glitch: ((I'm drawing a blank, personally; would someone else mind starting the description?))
  23. Pins: ((my mind is fixed on something very Fallen London-like))
  24. Scratch: Scratch, after having some additional stitches looks at the rest of his crew, "Just stick by me and we should be just fine...maybe." He insistent scratching hasn't gotten any better either, and some may argue it has gotten worse over time.
  25. Pins: ((gothic, victorian, perpetual great big moon in the sky, dark streets yet always things are somehow bright enough to make your way around/recognize others (unless they don't *want* to be recognized until it's too late 😉 ) ))
  26. Pins: ((that sound about right, <@!GM>?))
  27. Scratch: (So pretty much traverse town)
  28. GM: (Yeah.)
  29. Scratch: ( http://img-cache.cdn.gaiaonline.com/8c86d9180637d3d01a27462e869bae95/http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n259/jen97882/Kingdom%20Hearts/Traverse%20Town/Traverse_Town.jpg like this but maybe more delilpitated )
  30. GM: (But say it IC next time? XP)
  31. Pins: ((didn't want to step on the GM's toes in case I was wrong XD))
  32. GM: (Nothing to be "wrong" about.)
  33. Reality Glitch: What concerns me is not the potential danger, but rather the the tall one's uncertainty.
  34. GM: (As long as it even remotely matches the name.)
  35. Reality Glitch: Hopefully, they don't have the same dream-warping properties my existance I do.
  36. Reality Glitch: I ask of the small one as to the nature of this "Mr. Smiles" and our visit with them.
  37. Scratch: Scratch looks at the rest of them and motions them forward, "Let's just get a move on." He spoke, passing through back alleys, dimly lit gas lamps, and a various variety of spooks and ghouls.
  38. Pins: Of course Pins is a little nervous. She doesn't show it, but that's just how she rolls. The darker, creepier dreams are not her natural environment in the least.
  39. Reality Glitch: I try to reassure the small one of our strength in numbers.
  40. Pins: _giggles appreciatively. Somehow Sab does not fall into Pins's definition of "dark and creepy."_
  41. Reality Glitch: I point out the obviousness of that fact, considering my own attempts to not appear as such.
  42. GM: "Ah~ My faaaavorite wwworst niiiightmarrrre~" Suddenly, the shadow of a building drags across the street and up the opposite wall. Gouls and demons (or at least entities that look like those) move out of the way - some with startled scurrying, but most with a polite shuffle - as that shadow takes the vague form of a man. A pocket of lit surface within forms the shape of a mouth.
  43. Pins: _stares in shock at the sight for a few seconds. At first it looks like she might squeal and run..._
  44. Pins: ...but then she breaks out into a huge smile and waves.
  45. Pins: "Hello1"
  46. Scratch: "You better not be addressing me, Smiles." He begins to scratch a bit harder, "I turned away from that and you know it."
  47. GM: "Ah, you know I would never actually condone that sort of activity~ I'm wounded~" Now that he's fully formed, Mr. Smiles speaks with much less of a slur. He sways back and forth, making exaggerated gestures as he spoke.
  48. Reality Glitch: I perk up at the implication that the tall one is an ex-nightmare. I had not known such was possible and inquire as to the details of such phenomenon.
  49. GM: "But look, you brought friends! Hello, little one~" He takes an odd, sideways bow.
  50. Scratch: "Don't. Ask. I'd rather much NOT talk about it." He snarls a bit from Sab's pester. "What are we here for anyways, Smiles, some Nightmares causing trouble?"
  51. Pins: _bows in kind. "How do you do, sir?" she says in her best grown-up impression._
  52. GM: "Well! I suppose you could say that~" He rests his head on his hand, before snapping to attention and pointing with that hand. "But why don't we talk more inside?" He waves his hand around his lower portion, and patches of light form the shape of a closed door and some stairs leading up to it.
  53. GM: He puts a hand to the doorknob, and the door *creaks* open to reveal an intense darkness beyond.
  54. Pins: _stares again at the sight. "Uh. Anyone got a flashlight?"_
  55. Scratch: He shrugs and walks inside, and beginning to once again tear into himself with his claws, "You don't need a flashlight." He says and he just walks in all the way.
  56. Pins: "O-okay..."
  57. Pins: She toddles in after Scratch.
  58. GM: "Ah- I'm afraid I can only accommodate two seats at the maximum. You know how it is~ Are some of you willing to stand?"
  59. Pins: "I don't mind!"
  60. Reality Glitch: I volunteer to stay behind.
  61. Scratch: "I'd rather much stand, I don't think the table is big enough for me anyways."
  62. Reality Glitch: Best not to discover how our natures interact in such intimate proximity.
  63. GM: "Whatever floats your boat~ I'll find you when we've finished our little chat, Mr. Lovecraft~" And he closes the door behind the pair, leaving Sab alone on the street. Well, not entirely alone; seems Mr. Smiles was kind enough to leave a little sentry to keep him company.
  64. GM: (One allied mook get! I'll leave it up to you what it actually is.)
  65. Reality Glitch: Interesting; the small, whisp-like flame seems to have taken an interest in me. It's dim, light blue glow reminecent of a human soul.
  66. GM: Inside, Scratch and especially Pins have to get their bearings, as they appear to be 2D now; just shadows on the vague concept of a wall. (Some newcomers back in Whimsalot would describe it as some artsy indie sidescroller.) The whole place is decorated with silhouettes of spider webs, spiked fences and other gothic touches. A voice belonging to Mr. Smiles calls out from further down the hall they start in.
  67. Pins: "Pretty." She follows along.
  68. Pins: This is making her think of shadow puppets.
  69. Pins: She wonders briefly if she can change her appearance if she tries. Like a pair of hands becoming a quacking duck.
  70. Scratch: Scratch continued down towards the voice, "Just come with me, there's probably no time to waste."
  71. GM: Meanwhile, what is Sab Sair N'ool doing in Bazaar Street proper?
  72. GM: The pair eventually enter a more vertically open "room," to be greeted by a much more "normal" sized Mr. Smiles, who beckons them to take a seat for what appears to be a tea party.
  73. Reality Glitch: I've decided to take a form mimicing the whisp--granted, one made of shadow rather than light--and attempt to converse with it.
  74. Reality Glitch: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/jPN9drivQas/hqdefault.jpg
  75. GM: "I do hope you like crumpets~"
  76. Scratch: Scratch rolls his eyes and stands instead, "Why are we really here, smiles, and be straight with me."
  77. Pins: "Ooh!" Pins eagerly takes a seat and picks up a cup. She peers inside, wondering what strange kind of tea they serve in this shadow-land. (She's vaguely aware tea parties are supposed to serve actual tea, but she's admittedly more familiar with the pretend kind.)
  78. GM: It's kind of hard to "look" into a teacup at this angle (eh?), but tilting it reveals it to be empty. There are certainly crumpets, though. "Now, I mentioned that I do have a Nightmare-related problem, after a fashion~" Mr. Smiles takes a seat himself, seeing as Scratch refused his. "Though it's not as 'direct' as you're probably used to~"
  79. Pins: _cocks her head attentively._
  80. Scratch: "What do you mean, 'not as direct'?"
  81. GM: Sab, the flame conveys its orders to follow you and make sure you don't wind up in too much trouble.
  82. Scratch: "What Nightmares are we even talking about if if it's not direct?"
  83. GM: "Well, I'm sure you both know what the most common goal of a Nightmare is~?"
  84. Scratch: "Cause chaos and disrupt the Dreamscape? I wasn't really given a direct order."
  85. Pins: "No, silly! It's 'eat people's feelings and grow stronger'!"
  86. Reality Glitch: I appretiate the concern. I am not all that familiar with concrete existance, and would not be surprized if my confusion that it's unintuitively rigid nature proved detrimental.
  87. Scratch: He shrugs, "Like I said, I wasn't given an order."
  88. GM: "Yes! I'm surprised you of all people didn't know that, Scratch~ Just what *were* you after, then?" He laughs, and pours some imaginary tea for Pins. "But I'm getting off topic, methinks~"
  89. Scratch: "Just some observer I guess, my maker didn't really say much."
  90. Pins: _looks simultaneously proud for having gotten it right and a little embarrassed for Scratch._
  91. GM: "Hm~ Well... Ah, I'm sure we can look into that later~ Now, say you wanted feelings 'inside you' to become more powerful, but you lack the guts or the broken moral compass to seek it out yourself~? Where would you turn~?"
  92. GM: (Sab: Roll Clever.)
  93. Pins: _rubs her chin, and looks at Scratch, hoping for his sake he'll get the answer himself this time._
  94. GM: (Sab?)
  95. Pins: ( <@Reality Glitch> )
  96. Scratch: "Well, I for one turned myself into the Watch House after being disconnected from...them."
  97. Reality Glitch: ((Wait, what's going on? I don't have enough context.))
  98. Reality Glitch: ((What am I rolling? Why and what for?))
  99. GM: (Clever. I'm asking you to make your spot check.)
  100. Reality Glitch: ((You don't just pop a roll on someone.))
  101. Reality Glitch: ((Then you need to explain that in the narrative: like something catching my attention and the roll is to see if I get a good look at it in time.))
  102. Pins: _sighs. "You'd go to someone who *does* hunt feelings and arrange a trade. Pay them for their stolen stuff." She turns to Mr. Smiles like an attentive student: "Am I right?"_
  103. Reality Glitch: !r 4df+3
  104. DiscoDude: <@Reality Glitch> rolled 4df+3 for 0 [4df = [-][ ][-][-]]
  105. GM: (Hm, is there anything that could modify that?)
  106. Pins: ((for what it's worth, I generally consider the "make a Quick/Clever roll" prompt itself a way of saying "there is something here which you might spot"))
  107. Reality Glitch: ((Woops! That's actually a -1 total.))
  108. Scratch: "What? I'm not a normal nightmare that just feasts, I was just there to watch and collect and report back."
  109. Reality Glitch: (( <@!Pins> That hides information from the player, which works against Fate's want for the player to have more control since you need information to do that. The gap between player knowledge and character knowledge is much greater in this system by it's very design.))
  110. GM: "Correct again~ Yes, these are always a constant presence, I'm afraid... But especially recently, there seems to be talk of increased movement of a certain emotion~ Not just with one 'dealer', either~"
  111. Reality Glitch: ((I'll take the Succeed at major cost option anyway.))
  112. GM: (So, is there anything to modify that roll?)
  113. GM: (Huh? You can succeed despite losing the roll?)
  114. Reality Glitch: ((Failing an Overcome roll in Fate means the player chooses to either not get what they want or get what they want, but with significant complications.))
  115. GM: (Ah.)
  116. GM: (So in this case, the major cost could be that your mook ally won't be able to follow if you give chase?)
  117. Scratch: "And what emotion would that be?" He jests. He mumbles something from under his breathe and then looks back at them both. (I assume people can still roll to see what he mumbled to himself despite me not being a GM?)
  118. GM: (Yeah, Pins can do that. So can Mr. Smiles.)
  119. GM: !roll 4df+4 (Clever)
  120. DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4df+4 for 7 [4df = [ ][+][+][+]] (Clever)
  121. Scratch: (wow, yeah he definitely heard that shit)
  122. Scratch: (I'll DM it)
  123. Reality Glitch: ((Not necissarily; the two of us would work out what would make the most sense. My suggestion is that Sab gets the good look just as it jumps them, thus whatever just got the drop will get a surprize round.))
  124. GM: (It's not attacking you. You're just noticing something.)
  125. GM: (And yeah, now I'm seeing why it makes sense to give context beforehand even if it "spoils" things for the players.)
  126. Reality Glitch: ((Also, I think this would fit better as a Defend roll vs. the Sneaky roll to Overcome Sair's persception.))
  127. GM: (Ah, right.)
  128. GM: !roll 4df+0 (Mook)
  129. DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4df+0 for 0 [4df = [ ][-][ ][+]] (Mook)
  130. Pins: _pricks her ears up a little at Scratch's grumblings._
  131. Pins: (clever, right?)
  132. Scratch: (yeah)
  133. Pins: (pinning that down as +2 then)
  134. Pins: !roll 4dF+2
  135. DiscoDude: <@Pins> rolled 4dF+2 for 5 [4dF = [+][ ][+][+]]
  136. Pins: (WOO)
  137. Scratch: (DMd it to as well Pins)
  138. Reality Glitch: ((So, failing to defend just means N'ool doesn't prevent what they were trying to prevent.))
  139. GM: "Why... *ecstasy*. Raw energy. Some dashes of fun, supposedly~ Still, even if the emotions are good, *something* naughty is being done if whoever this central supplier is was able to consistently produce so much~ That's what you're all here to figure out, after all~"
  140. Scratch: He sighs in relief, "Well, do we have any details?"
  141. Reality Glitch: ((Is Mr. Smile's exterior still visible?))
  142. GM: Out of Sab's sight, a small, gangly figure carries out a trade with a furry imp, before both parties disappear into opposite alleys.
  143. Pins: "So we're on a *case!*" Pins chirps. "A real detective case!"
  144. Reality Glitch: (( <@!GM> ))
  145. GM: (Yeah?)
  146. Reality Glitch: ((Is Mr. Smile's exterior still visible?))
  147. GM: (Yes.)
  148. Reality Glitch: I try to alert this "Mr. Smiles" to what I had just glimpsed, despite not having a good look.
  149. GM: "Those *were* 'the details,' silly~ If we already knew anything else, I probably wouldn't need you here, now would I~ ... Oh? It seems your friend has spotted something~ In my presence? My, they're getting more brazen! Perhaps I should cull the market again~?" He gets up, and points back the way the pair came. "Perhaps in a few nights. Let's move along, now; my problem won't solve itself, after all~"
  150. Scratch: He nods and gets moving along.
  151. Pins: "Woo! Let's go!" She whips out her giant needle and runs along back towards the entrance.
  152. GM: The door in Mr. Smiles's center flies open, and both of you pop out before it deforms behind you. You're greeted with a little Willow-the-Wisp and what seems to be its black mirror opposite.
  153. Scratch: He waves back, "So...What did you see?"
  154. Pins: "Yeah, yeah! Where do we go? Who do we chase?"
  155. Reality Glitch: I enlighten then to my ignorance on anything detailed.
  156. Scratch: His interests seems to be more interested on the "gangly" part.
  157. Scratch: "Nothing else but small and thin?"
  158. Reality Glitch: ((Where did you get that from?))
  159. Pins: ((i think he misread what you said))
  160. Pins: ((you were telling us you *don't* know anything detailed XD))
  161. Pins: "That's fine, just give us something! Anything!"
  162. Reality Glitch: ((Exactly.))
  163. Scratch: He then makes his way towards where they were last scene based on what Sab described. (From GM "gangly figure")
  164. Scratch: (I thought he at least said that)
  165. Pins: ((nope))
  166. Scratch: (UGH)
  167. Reality Glitch: ((Scratch, Sab explicitly stated that they have no description.))
  168. Scratch: ( :/)
  169. GM: (Back. My iPad crashed.)
  170. Scratch: "Then tell me something."
  171. Reality Glitch: ((To enlighten someone is to make them aware of something: in this case, Sair's lack of awareness.))
  172. Scratch: He continues to stare at Sab, "..."
  173. Pins: _sighs and turns to Mr. Smiles._
  174. Pins: "Do *you* have anything we can go on, then?"
  175. Reality Glitch: I return to feline form and guesture in the diretion of the movement I noticed. ((Which I can correctly assume was the imp?))
  176. Pins: "Thanks!" Pins doesn't wait; she sprints off in the direction Sab indicates.
  177. GM: "Well, my half-tolerance for dealers means that they congregate here and hardly anywhere else~ It also makes it easier to keep tabs on them~ I could have this little wisp lead you to one if you wish- Ah, never mind~" He giggles as he begins to dissipate. "Jussst saaay myyy naaame if yooou chaaaange yourrr miinnnd~"
  178. Reality Glitch: I follow the small one.
  179. Scratch: Scratch walks in the opposite direction to Sab and Pins, "They obviously don't walk down the same path."
  180. Pins: ((but scratch doesn't know that))
  181. Scratch: (He's just assuming)
  182. GM: (So are we instigating a Quick vs. Sneaky contest on two fronts?)
  183. Pins: (sounds about right!)
  184. GM: (Or, well, Quick vs. Mook, anyways.)
  185. Scratch: (We all roll Quick then, right?)
  186. Reality Glitch: ((Clever would be investigation.))
  187. GM: (Yeah; can I rule that Pins and Sab use the higher of their two rolls?)
  188. Reality Glitch: !r 4df+2
  189. DiscoDude: <@Reality Glitch> rolled 4df+2 for -2 [4df = [-][-][-][-]]
  190. Scratch: !roll 4df+3 (Quick)
  191. DiscoDude: <@Scratch> rolled 4df+3 for 4 [4df = [-][ ][+][+]] (Quick)
  192. Scratch: (Ouch)
  193. Scratch: (rip Sab)
  194. Pins: !roll 4dF+2 (Quick)
  195. DiscoDude: <@Pins> rolled 4dF+2 for 1 [4dF = [ ][-][+][-]] (Quick)
  196. GM: (Okay, so 1 and 4 vs...)
  197. GM: !roll 4df+2 (Mook+)
  198. DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4df+2 for 1 [4df = [ ][ ][ ][-]] (Mook+)
  199. GM: !roll 4df+0 (Mook)
  200. DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4df+0 for 3 [4df = [+][+][+][ ]] (Mook)
  201. GM: (A tie for team dealer, and a clean win for the cat going after the buyer!)
  202. Reality Glitch: ((Tying on an Overcome roll is a success at a minor cost.))
  203. GM: Scratch: [O] [ ] [ ]
  204. Buyer: [ ] [ ] [ ]
  205. GM: (Scratch, feel free to narrate how you're picking up the trail and getting a move-on or whatever you feel is right.)
  206. Reality Glitch: ((In a contest, if there's a tie, no one gets a victory, and an unexpected twist accurs.))
  207. GM: (So, you two; do you get split up? Or do you have any better ideas?)
  208. Scratch: As he ran throuhg the streets, his scratching got more and more rough as he came closer, as if...Something was definitely off, and as he was sure he got to the source, he stopped and pulled out his pinsword. Seeing no one he continued.
  209. GM: (And to be clear, I'm running two different competitions here.)
  210. GM: (Um... wait, are you giving up the contest, Scratch? You were the one who had the clean win.)
  211. Reality Glitch: ((Quoting the SRD: This could mean several things depending on the situation—the terrain or environment shifts somehow, the parameters of the contest change, or an unanticipated variable shows up and affects all the participants. GMs, you should create a new situation aspect reflecting this change.))
  212. Scratch: (Nope, he thought he found them, but he's going to continue)
  213. Reality Glitch: ((Though, I do think being split up is sufficient in this case.))
  214. GM: (Could mean one of you gets lost, but also doubles the chances of finding him. I like it.)
  215. Scratch: (So do I roll again?)
  216. Pins: (yeah, getting split up sounds about right)
  217. Pins: (should I roll again?)
  218. GM: (Scratch, yeah. Pins or Sab; narrate.)
  219. Scratch: !roll 4df+3 (Quick again!)
  220. DiscoDude: <@Scratch> rolled 4df+3 for 7 [4df = [+][+][+][+]] (Quick again!)
  221. Scratch: (HOOPA SHIT)
  222. Pins: The alleys are a maze of twisty passages, all alike. Pins is *sure* she's on the right path, even though she can't see her quarry...but where's her partner gone off to?
  223. GM: !roll 4df+0 (Mook is screwed).
  224. DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4df+0 for 1 [4df = [+][+][ ][-]] (Mook is screwed).
  225. Pins: !roll 4dF+2 (Quick)
  226. DiscoDude: <@Pins> rolled 4dF+2 for 3 [4dF = [ ][+][ ][ ]] (Quick)
  227. Reality Glitch: As I attempted to follow the small one, they seem to t maneuver alarmingly well and lose track of them.
  228. Reality Glitch: ((A success with style is worth two victories.))
  229. GM: Scratch: [O] [O] [O] (VICTORY!)
  230. Buyer: [ ] [ ] [ ]
  231. GM: (I knew that.)
  232. Reality Glitch: ((I wasn't sure; it's a bit obscure.))
  233. GM: (Also, Sab, roll.)
  234. Scratch: He rushes at the source he had relocated and points his pinsword at them, "Stop, right there, turn around, and face me, nice and slow."
  235. Scratch: (~~Rush B Cyka Blyat~~)
  236. Reality Glitch: !r 4df+2
  237. DiscoDude: <@Reality Glitch> rolled 4df+2 for 1 [4df = [ ][ ][-][ ]]
  238. GM: !roll 4df+2 (Mook+)
  239. DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4df+2 for 0 [4df = [+][-][-][-]] (Mook+)
  240. GM: Pins: [O] [O] [ ]
  241. Sab: [O] [ ] [ ]
  242. Dealer: [ ] [ ]
  243. GM: (The dealer needs less to win, being a more slippery customer.)
  244. GM: (Now narrate your own developments.)
  245. GM: <@!Scratch>: And what, specifically, was this suspect like?
  246. Reality Glitch: ((Well, that would be reflected by a higher difficulty for us to succeed.))
  247. Scratch: (Hmm...Can I like...send a picture? In general?)
  248. GM: (Well, it's also the head-start, which is negated on the buyer's end due to his bumbling.)
  249. GM: (It wouldn't be kind to future me who has to make the logs readable, no... actually, maybe an image *can* work.)
  250. Scratch: (If I run it to imgur or something It can work)
  251. GM: (Sab? Pins?)
  252. GM: (For now, just try your best with words.)
  253. Scratch: (okie)
  254. Pins: _continues her sprint down the dark alleyways. Is her target getting nearer? Farther? She can't tell, but she keeps running anyway!_
  255. Pins: !roll 4dF+2
  256. DiscoDude: <@Pins> rolled 4dF+2 for 2 [4dF = [+][-][-][+]]
  257. Pins: ( <@Reality Glitch> )
  258. Reality Glitch: ((Give me a moment.))
  259. Scratch: The Figure turned to face Scratch, they were just a floating skull, with blue pinhole lights coming from it's sockets, adorned in a white lab coat of sorts.
  260. Reality Glitch: ((I'm not sure if it'll realy be interesting to describe until it's finally over.))
  261. Reality Glitch: ((Wait. GASTER!?!?))
  262. Scratch: (gdi)
  263. Scratch: (Can there be like, no fucking skeleton characters that do not relate to undertale for once)
  264. Reality Glitch: ((You could have just said "no".))
  265. Scratch: (I just hear that a lot, it get's annoying)
  266. GM: (I agree with both sides on this. Let's continue, shall we?)
  267. Reality Glitch: ((Sure.))
  268. GM: (So Sab; you still need to roll. Scratch; this is sort of your character. Do you got this, or should I?)
  269. Scratch: (I'll do it heh)
  270. Reality Glitch: ((Sorry, didn't realise it was third exchange yet.))
  271. Reality Glitch: !r 4df+2
  272. DiscoDude: <@Reality Glitch> rolled 4df+2 for 0 [4df = [ ][-][-][ ]]
  273. GM: !roll 4df+2 (Mook+)
  274. DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4df+2 for 2 [4df = [ ][ ][+][-]] (Mook+)
  275. GM: (Anything to modify this?)
  276. GM: (Sab is losing, and Pins is tied.)
  277. Reality Glitch: I'll invoke ***Psuedo-Lovecraftian Champion of Humanity*** to defy conventional physics/Dream-physics enough to slip ahead.
  278. GM: (Boosting for a tie, or rerolling?)
  279. Reality Glitch: !r 4df+2
  280. DiscoDude: <@Reality Glitch> rolled 4df+2 for 4 [4df = [ ][ ][+][+]]
  281. GM: (And would <@!Pins> like to boost with anything? Wait, doesn't she have that stunt?)
  282. Scratch: The skull looked at Scratch and inspected him, "Well, good to see you are making yourself well, Scratch." He spoke, the pinhole lights unwavering. Scratch kept his stance, "What package did you get? And you show it to me right now."
  283. Scratch: The figure just let out a small chuckle, "Why do I need to show a puppet without strings anything?" At that point, another *Scratch* come out from the woodworks whilst he made his merry way out.
  284. Scratch: (Combat is fine then <@!GM> ?)
  285. GM: (Okay?)
  286. Reality Glitch: ((Dun DUn DUN!!!!))
  287. GM: (This Scratch is just a greater mook, though; you had to *fight* to achieve PC status!)
  288. Pins: (oh yeah, she has that needle stunt; would that help?)
  289. Scratch: (yup yup)
  290. GM: (Yeah, Pins's results should have been boosted by plus 2 this whole time. XP)
  291. GM: Pins: [O] [O] [O] (VICTORY!)
  292. Sab: [O] [O] [ ]
  293. Dealer: [ ] [ ]
  294. Scratch: Scratch growls under his breath, and attempts to just deal with the other with a quick strike.
  295. Scratch: !roll 4df+3
  296. DiscoDude: <@Scratch> rolled 4df+3 for 1 [4df = [ ][-][ ][-]]
  297. GM: !roll 4df+2 (Mook+ vs Scratch)
  298. DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4df+2 for 3 [4df = [+][-][+][ ]] (Mook+ vs Scratch)
  299. GM: (Got a stunt? An aspect? Even if you didn't before, creating one now would make sense.)
  300. Scratch: (IHmm...Can I use an aspect **Far Lanky Reach**?)
  301. Scratch: (+2)
  302. GM: (Sure. I forget, does a tied attack v. defense lead to a boost?)
  303. GM: (Also, Sab and Pins still need to roll/conclude their contest.)
  304. GM: (<@Reality Glitch>: You'll be rolling against a flat 0 this time since Pins already found him.)
  305. Reality Glitch: !r 4df+2
  306. DiscoDude: <@Reality Glitch> rolled 4df+2 for -1 [4df = [-][-][ ][-]]
  307. Pins: _keeps running. Does she see her quarry yet?..._
  308. GM: (At this point Pins doesn't need to worry about this guy "winning" against Sab. Do you want to take the loss as temporarily getting lost or something?)
  309. GM: She does. Or at least it feels like it, even if Sab never actually gave a description. What is he, anyways?
  310. Reality Glitch: ((I thought it was the furry imp you talked about earlier.))
  311. GM: (Well, the furry imp was supposed to be the customer, but Scratch had different plans.)
  312. GM: (This is me prompting Pins.)
  313. Reality Glitch: ((Scratch went ater the dealer, not the imp.))
  314. GM: (He went after where the buyer went, and you guys went after the dealer. The descriptions don't matter anymore, because I'm prompting you to make them up.)
  315. Pins: It's a little gremlin with big blue eyes, little pointed ears, a birdlike beak, and a prominent lack of arms. He's twice as big as Pins but that still puts him about the size of a soccer ball.
  316. Scratch: GM - Today at 6:27 PM
  317. (A tie for team dealer, and a clean win for the cat going after the buyer!)
  318. Scratch: (blyat read)
  319. Reality Glitch: ((I specifically said I pointed towards the imp and that's where Pins bolted off to.))
  320. Pins: ((yeah, <@!GM>))
  321. GM: (Oh, whoop. Doesn't matter anymore, I guess.)
  322. Pins: (also i really hope you realize what i just described)
  323. GM: (No, but I'm giggling anyways. XD)
  324. Scratch: (PINS IS TINY)
  325. Reality Glitch: ((Pins is a doll, literally.))
  326. GM: (Also, I never got an answer; what happens when an attack and a defense tie?)
  327. Pins: (no damage done but the attacker gets a boost IIRC)
  328. Reality Glitch: ((Yes.))
  329. GM: (That's what I thought, but I wasn't sure.)
  330. GM: The other Scratch stumbles a bit **-Off Balance-**, but then spins around on one foot to deliver its own strike!
  331. GM: !roll 4df+2 (Mook+ vs Scratch)
  332. DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4df+2 for 0 [4df = [+][-][-][-]] (Mook+ vs Scratch)
  333. Scratch: !roll 4df+2 (Forceful)
  334. DiscoDude: <@Scratch> rolled 4df+2 for 4 [4df = [ ][+][ ][+]] (Forceful)
  335. GM: Sab: [O] [ ] [ ]
  336. Dealer: [O] [ ]
  337. Reality Glitch: !r 4df+2
  338. DiscoDude: <@Reality Glitch> rolled 4df+2 for -1 [4df = [ ][-][-][-]]
  339. GM: The furry little dealer doesn't seem to notice Pins yet.
  340. GM: (Wow, a below-zero result *twice*?)
  341. Reality Glitch: Yup.
  342. GM: (The odds of two triple rolls like that are lower than an eclipse. >_>)
  343. Pins: _clears her throat. "G'evening, friend! Are you lost in these dark alleyways?" Step one of interrogation: gain the suspect's trust._
  344. GM: Sab: [O] [ ] [ ]
  345. Dealer: [O] [O] (VICTORY...?)
  346. Scratch: Scratch defends flawlessly against the kick and grabs a hold of it.
  347. GM: (So I guess Sab gets lost?)
  348. Reality Glitch: ((Yup. No longer in the scene. Guess the foreshadowing came true.))
  349. Scratch: Scratch then attempts to smash them into a wall with the leg they grabbed a hold of
  350. GM: "Meep! Meeeeeeeeep~!" The little thing runs around in circles. It's highly doubtful that this guy - is he from Whimsalot? - even went into any dreams if he's this much of a pushover.
  351. Scratch: !roll 4df+2
  352. DiscoDude: <@Scratch> rolled 4df+2 for 3 [4df = [+][ ][-][+]]
  353. GM: !roll 4df+2 (Mook+)
  354. DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4df+2 for 1 [4df = [ ][ ][-][ ]] (Mook+)
  355. GM: (You wanna boost for the KO?)
  356. Scratch: (yes!)
  357. GM: SMASH! The other Scratch lies battered and broken at the base of the wall where he was thrown.
  358. GM: Not Scratch: [1] [2] [3] - (TILT) -
  359. Scratch: Scratch huffs and falls to the ground, "...Fuck..." He grabs a hold of his Pinsword. "I gotta...report to Watch House..."
  360. Pins: _giggles. "Aw, come on, little guy, you're safe as long as I'm around! Now tell me, what are you doing in a scary place like this?" She puts away her needle and approaches the creature._
  361. Scratch: "Actually..." He stands up after resting, "Mr. Smiles, I need you to come out."
  362. GM: It's then that the thing trips onto its face; its first real slip-up... Is it crying?
  363. Reality Glitch: ((The furby or not-Scratch?))
  364. Scratch: (The furby)
  365. GM: (Yeah.)
  366. GM: (It's pretty good at erratic movements, but is useless in an actual confrontation. XD)
  367. Pins: "Oh...oh wow. Um." She looks around for her partner; this would be a good time to have a grown-up, or someone more grown-up-like than her, around. "H-here. Lemme help you up."
  368. Pins: _makes an effort to help it right itself._
  369. GM: "Hmmmmm?" Mr. Smiles melts out of the shadows. "I was just watching you friend catch up to *her* quarry~ It's adorable, really~"
  370. Scratch: He looks over at the other Scratch and picks them up by the shirt, "Well, I'm glad I don't look like this." He then turns towards Smiles. "Well, I got some...really bad news."
  371. Scratch: He looks at Smiles, "My **lucid** dreamer was the buyer of whatever, and he left me this present as he got away." He shakes the broken body of the puppet.
  372. GM: (He was the buyer, actually.)
  373. Scratch: (Op, there we go)
  374. Scratch: (Wasn't sure becasue different things were being said)
  375. GM: (Hm, this feels around a good time to wrap up soon.)
  376. Scratch: (yeah, feels like it)
  377. GM: (Scratch has prolly said his final line, Pins is in prime position to take the dealer into custody, and Sab will find his way back. Anyone have anything to add IC?)
  378. Reality Glitch: ((Nope.))
  379. Scratch: (Yeah that was Scratch's final line, I just wanna see what Smiles has to say.)
  380. Reality Glitch: (( <@!Pins> ))
  381. Pins: (i'll give my last line as soon as I know how the perp reacts to Pins' attempts to help it)
  382. GM: It just keeps crying. It doesn't even seem to be a Nightmare. Is it just some kid who wanted/needed money fast or wanted to have a "cool" job?
  383. Pins: '
  384. Pins: "There, there...don't cry...it'll all be okay...we'll take you home, and everything'll be all right..." Slowly, gently, Pins walks her quarry back out the alleyway.
  385. Pins: It's a routine she's very familiar with from...well, way back when. She's glad it's come in handy once more.
  386. GM: "Hmm~ As I considered before," says Mr. Smiles, finally after a long pause, "the Dream Watchers may have to put this dreamer of yours into their sights soon~ Though I don't think he's relevant to finding the *source* of this ecstasy~ Still, a good find~"
  387. GM: (Are we good?)
  388. Pins: (good :3)
  389. Scratch: (Let me add one more thing actually)
  390. Reality Glitch: https://ih1.redbubble.net/image.14709244.0576/st%2Csmall%2C215x235-pad%2C210x230%2Cf8f8f8.lite-1u2.jpg
  391. Scratch: "Yeah, I don't think he could be the source of this ecstasy." He spoke and then dragged the puppet, "Can I leave this with you? Pretty sure it's dead."
  392. GM: With that, the other Scratch breaks down into dust.
  393. GM: "... Indeed~"
  394. GM: (Now? XD)
  395. Scratch: (and scene :3c)
  396. GM: !end
