Just as Gideon shut the door to a café that would, for the moment, protect his eight civilians, he looked up to see a Boros legionnaire ride a pegasus toward a trio of Eternal aven. The legionnaire smote two with his sword, but the third swung its wing and knocked the man clean out of his saddle. He fell.

The pegasus dived to catch her master, but he slammed headfirst into the stones. Gideon could hear the man’s neck snap. A sound he was fast tiring of.
