Baragon eats elk

The monster shook itself dry, sending cascades of water everywhere. It was then that Dave Brewer noticed the creatures long, powerful back legs- which resembled those of a toad. When a flight of birds burst from the tree line, the monster's eyes focused on the on them immediately.

At that moment, Dave Brewer was suddenly glad he hadn't moved, for he knew by the way the creature sensed a movement that this thing was a predator. A moment later, and elk burst into the clearing from a hopes of trees. As the animal darted across the grass, the monster struck with lightning speed.

With an agility that amazed Dave, the monster leaped high into the air. The jump covered the distance between it and the running elk in a single bound. As the creature slammed the two Earth with a tremendous thud, it scooped up the fleeing animal and it's huge jaws. The sound of crunching bones and running flesh, followed by a loud gulp, broke Dave Brewer's resolved to remain still.
