  2. whois: option requires an argument -- h
  3. Usage: whois [OPTION]... OBJECT...

  5. -h HOST, --host HOST connect to server HOST
  6. -p PORT, --port PORT connect to PORT
  7. -I query whois.iana.org and follow its referral
  8. -H hide legal disclaimers
  9. --verbose explain what is being done
  10. --no-recursion disable recursion from registry to registrar servers
  11. --help display this help and exit
  12. --version output version information and exit
  13.  
  14. These flags are supported by whois.ripe.net and some RIPE-like servers:
  15. -l find the one level less specific match
  16. -L find all levels less specific matches
  17. -m find all one level more specific matches
  18. -M find all levels of more specific matches
  19. -c find the smallest match containing a mnt-irt attribute
  20. -x exact match
  21. -b return brief IP address ranges with abuse contact
  22. -B turn off object filtering (show email addresses)
  23. -G turn off grouping of associated objects
  24. -d return DNS reverse delegation objects too
  25. -i ATTR[,ATTR]... do an inverse look-up for specified ATTRibutes
  26. -T TYPE[,TYPE]... only look for objects of TYPE
  27. -K only primary keys are returned
  28. -r turn off recursive look-ups for contact information
  29. -R force to show local copy of the domain object even
  30. if it contains referral
  31. -a also search all the mirrored databases
  32. -s SOURCE[,SOURCE]... search the database mirrored from SOURCE
  33. -g SOURCE:FIRST-LAST find updates from SOURCE from serial FIRST to LAST
  34. -t TYPE request template for object of TYPE
  35. -v TYPE request verbose template for object of TYPE
  36. -q [version|sources|types] query specified server info
