  1. Murmur woke with a jolt as a feeling like ice poured through her veins. Scattered memories trickled into her awareness, the events of the last couple of hours distilled into moments and played back. While she slept, several rats had poked there way into her dungeon, each bringing with it a hint of cold before being summarily executes by her imps. She had slept through them handily.
  2.
  3. But this was different, this was much, much larger than a mere rat. Murmur hopped out of bed and rushed into her dungeon proper, only to see her imps engaged in combat with a hulking, misshapen rat monster, the size of a large dog. Two of her imps had already fallen to the beast, the fragments of their spirits resting in her pseudo-demon world. The imps has died valiantly, at least. The rat-beast was bleed profusely, it’s flank having been torn open on several places. It was a pity that such things didn’t seem to be slowing it down any.
  4.
  5. Fortunately for the remaining imps, however, “slowing it down” was something Murmur felt she was quite capable of. With practiced ease, Murmur blew a kiss at the rat along with a heart-shaped cloud of pink mist. As the charm washed over the rat, its reactions slowed, allowing the imp it had just swung at to dodge handily out of the way.
  6.
  7. Unfortunately, animals were fairly resistant to a succubus’s charms, and this strange creature seemed even more resistant than most. Had the rat been a simple human, it would have been stopped in its tracks. As it cleared the fog from its mind and prepared to take a bite out of the closest imp, another cloud wafted over it, followed by another. It’s vision blurred as it fell into a stupor, one it would never wake from.
  8.
  9. Murmur’s imps wasted no time killing the now immobilized creature, one them pushing up it’s head when one another tore its throat out with their teeth. As the beast sputtered it’s last and dissolved into sweet mana for the dungeon to absorb, Murmur felt a familiar presence fade away.
  10.
  11. “Was that a fragment of a name? So I guess that was a demonkin? I couldn’t tell whose name it was, the piece was too small... But if there are demonkin around, there’s probably a demon! I wonder if it’s someone I know? I hope so, it’s been a long time since I’ve run into anyone in the human world.
  12.
  13. “But I guess I should clean up here before I worry about any of that, huh. There’s some scratches in the ground, but it looks like they’re already closing up? That’s nice, really convenient. And my imps... I guess I’ll summon them back once they pull themselves together.
  14.
  15. “Now dungeon... voice... thing! You must have gotten some mana from that, right? So let’s get back to where we left off! Let’s get a lesser demon!”
  16.
  17. > Spawning lesser demon []
  18. Error: Unknown failure in concept crystallization
  19.
  20. “Ugh, what now!? What’s ‘concept crystallization’ even? Um, let’s see... Spawning imps worked just fine, what’s the different? What’s that ‘[]’? Wait, that looks familiar... Back when the dungeon tried to take me over, didn’t it say it was ‘dungeon [Sigma]’? And afterwards it was ‘dungeon [Murmur]’, right?
  21.
  22. “Oh! So the ‘[]’ represents a name? Then no wonder the spawn didn’t work! Imps are one thing, but you can’t have a proper demon without a name! Hmm, what would be good, I wonder. That guy wouldn’t mind if I borrowed his name, right? Right. So take it away, dungeon! Spawn lesser demon [Stolas]!”
  23.
  24. > Spawning lesser demon [Stolas]
  25. > Lesser demon [Stolas] spawned
