- Semi-dumb idea just spiralled into being out of having an interest in the macro side of micro/macro re-sparked (had kinda almost completely lost interest in that side of things): setting where kaiju incidents are a semi-regular occurrence. Society has adapted in ameliorating the effects, from reformation networks being common, automated rebuilding systems, and other such tech meaning it's more an inconvenience to minor disaster as opposed to cataclysmic when incidents happen.
- Kaiju themselves can be bestial, semi-anthro, or mamono-style demi (demi-type kaiju might be be a result of repeated close exposure to kaiju? I think normal-sized folk might be mostly human? Anthro folk would probably become semi-anthro/bestial types) and range from animalistic intelligence (probably corvid/dolphin/parrot level) to humanoid intelligence. I said incidents instead of attacks, since it's generally not a hostile thing unless there's been some incursion against a kaiju/its territory first, it's generally not a destructive rampage sort of thing, damage usually being incidental in travel/food-seeking, or out of curiosity/seeking entertainment for the smarter ones
- Idea for a character from said setting is someone who, unlike a lot of my human-mundie kinda characters, isn't a shy nerdy sort, but more a sort of an easygoing counterculture sort; dunno appearance yet or sex/gender but I know in clothing they have a sort of garage band/skater/punk kinda vibe to their clothing. They're also a kaiju-chaser, but this is more akin to a stormchaser IRL than it being some kinda kink thing; they defy sheltering mandates in kaiju incidents to try and get as close observation of kaiju as they can, generally with stuff like phone cams, camcorders, and the like. Societally they're kinda viewed like urbex or parkour enthusiasts, where they're sort of a fringe culture and seen as a mild nuisance subculture, but generally are viewed as super crazy or criminal.
