Fix had volunteered for some no-holds-barred mixed martial arts matches in order to raise the money for his kids. The match they assigned him was not against another MMA fighter, or even one of the transG fighters with special enhancements. No, he was put into the ring with someone called the Nightmare Kid. It was a huge and profoundly ugly monstrosity whose features had no basis in human or Earth animal evolution. A true alien.

The Nightmare Kid was easily twice as strong as Fix, fast as lightning, and very skillfully trained. With all that, Fix won the fight. However, at the end of the bout another alien burst in and began slaughtering everyone. This new monster was considerably larger, stronger, faster, and much better trained. Fix worked out that the new guy was Dad and the Nightmare Kid was junior. Maybe even a young juvenile, approximating a preteen or young teen.-pg.133 chpt.6
