/r/teenagers Discord Informal Announcement - May 24, 2017

Hey @everyone,

We've got some announcements to make in concerning server security and the recent events.
Firstly, file and link embedding will be disabled to for all non-role assigned users. This is a temporary change until the situation blows over.
Secondly, it is important that you alert the Discord Moderators *immediately* when another event like this occurs. In an emergency, Trusted have the power to mute users using right-click -> mute while Discord Mods are responding.
Thirdly, I personally ask that you bear with us while we sort this out. We understand that this is a disgusting situation that never should have happened, but I emphasize the fact that we are committing our full efforts to combat it. Saying things like "Fuck the mods," "Mods are shit," "These guys never should have been mods," etc. is non-contributive and does not help the situation. What you *can* do is right click the messages and report them so that Discord Support can understand the severity and broad impact of this situation.

Lastly, I'd like to apologize to everyone regarding the events in the past two days. We're doing our best to stop these actions before they occur but it doesn't change the fact that they are negatively affecting the users of this Discord.
