  7. If Germ-X, Kroger, and Purell are tested, we think Germs-X will work best. Germ-X is the most popular brand.
  8. • Aloe refreshes skin.
  9. Procedure:
  10. In the process get a container full of agar, with four equal sides. Use a control group with no antibacterial products and use the three other sections for Germ-X, Purell, and Kroger. Take some swabs by rubbing them on your hands and rub them in the container. Then take a squirt of the antibacterial products and rub them in their sections of the container. Then wait for the bacteria to grow over time. The time is the independent variable and the number of bacteria is affected by time making it dependent. Our control was the first section that contained no antibacterial products. Agar is a culture used for growing bacteria. Bacteria are present if you see little dots in their section. Those dots are colonies of bacteria containing thousands of bacteria. The bacteria are deadly as it contains many of them so the lid must not be opened. The container was sealed closed by tape.
  11. Analysis:
  12. In the data table the all of the sections had bacterial growth and two of them declined after seven days. The control group had the most bacterial growth as it went up to 4 colonies. The Kroger® brand which contained aloe had the most bacterial growth for an antibacterial product. It had four colonies before declining all the way to two. Germ-X®, which was the hypothesis, was in the middle. It had three colonies at the final observation. However Purell® was the best brand as it had the least bacterial growth by only having two colonies at the final observation. At 7 days it declined to half, just like the Kroger® brand, which started with four and ended with two.
  13.
  14. Conclusion:
  15. According to the experiment, the hypothesis was not supported by the experiment. Not counting the control group, Germ-X® turned out to have the largest amount of bacterial colonies, the Kroger® brand had the second least amount of bacterial colonies, and with the least amount of bacterial colonies Purell® ended up with two colonies. In conclusion, Purell® is the best out of Germ-X®, the Kroger® brand, and itself at eliminating bacteria located on your hands.
