Top 10 mistakes I made when I started learning English:

1: Learning grammar

One of the most useless things i was indoctrinated with when I started learning English was English grammar.

I mean… You don’t need grammar to communicate with your clients. You don’t need grammar to understand the learning resources like videos, articles, books. You don’t even need grammar to write such posts. Needless to say that you don’t need grammar to informally chat with your peers, friends and relatives.

So why bother?
The only reason it may come in handy is to teach your students some prescribed pointless rules and charge them for that.

So I realized that pretty early on and barely learned any grammar at all. At least not deliberately.

Instead I can recommend you spend all of your time and energy on leaning vocabulary and pronunciation. The rest will come naturally and you’re gonna be surprised when you start speaking fluent English without cramming the grammar.
