- Battleground is made up of 5 "lanes" which players send units down.
- Units will move down the lane and attack other units in the same lane. When they reach the end they will attack the command structure.
- Each Mission will have a specific goal (normally destroying the enemies command structure)
- Losing your own command structure is a mission failure.
- Each Faction has different units and a unique special ability

- Human Faction - The human faction is based roughly on a private exploration/mining corporation who have been marooned in space

- The Singularity - A faction of Robotic creations designed to combat the Swarm, they broke free of their programming, overthrowing their creators and now seek to destroy all organic life which they see as inferior and primitive compared to them.

- - The Singularity's tactics involve stalling enemies as they upgrade, become stronger and can produce their strongest units and then push through the enemies defenses in one fell swoop.
