  3. Ever since Bethesda shipped TES:CS with Morrowind in 2002, modding has been a huge part of their mainstream games. Children and neckbeards alike flourished in the creative environment the tools allowed, creating gigabyte upon gigabyte of boobs for one another. Cut to ten years later and the boobs are bigger and more poorly rendered than ever!

  5. In all seriousness modding is huge and sometimes confusing, sometimes horrifying, but ultimately brilliant. If Morrowind is anything to go by, people will be changing shit in this game for at least another decade and you can bet a lot of us will still be there, playing and shaking our heads at some of the stranger stuff.

Everything bad you have ever heard about it is true, but also everything good. The Nexus isn’t under the same pressure that Steam Workshop is to keep horrible material away from children and as a result hosts some pretty horrible mods. Now if you ignore that, and the fact that there is a population there that exist solely for anime furry sex mods who delete their “work” as soon as they get a single negative comment, it’s actually a cool place to get mods. So check it out, there are diamonds under all the shit.

It’s limited by the fact that it’s endorsed by both Bethesda and Valve so anything dodgy (IE adult oriented or copyright infringing) is not allowed. It also lacks the ability to install older versions of mods and it auto-updates everything you’ve subscribed to, weather you want to or not. Still installing a mod is as easy as clicking subcribe and running the launcher, so I’d recommend it for someone who isn’t looking to get too technical.
