- Greetings Citizens of the World. We are Anonymous Operation Cyber Privacy. This operation began in response to the recent cyber bills that have surfaced in America. However, we have since partnered with Operation C-51 to help bring an end to the new anti-terrorism bill that has just been passed through the Canadian Parliament. Next we will be expanding our sights to France and the United Kingdom as a result of similar internet monitoring legislation attacking personal privacy and net neutrality in those countries. Cyber and surveillance bills in any nation directly impact all internet users. You do not have to be in a surveillance state to be targeted by its legislation. When a website funnels its collected data to federal agencies, all user data is submitted. No one is immune. For this reason it is vital that we work closely with our comrades on a global level to ensure our right to privacy and freedom of expression on-line are not violated.
- We are compiling recent and current attempts by governments world wide to silence the voice of resistance on the internet. Many countries are facing the same civil rights violations as a result of supposed 'anti-terrorism' laws. We need you to stand up to cyberspying and government surveillance in your country. Operation Cyber Privacy has representatives in the United States,Canada, France the UK. We need allies in every single country that is facing cyber surveillance. We need strong leaders who can lead protests and rallies in their home country against cyber bills and other threats against individual privacy rights online. We encourage anyone to step forward and communicate with us on Twitter or in IRC.You must take to arms and protest this invasion online and in the streets.Everyone uses the internet and everyone deserves privacy. We must educate ourselves and share information with the people around us. Spreading the message on Twitter and Facebook are great ways to get people talking.Organizing protests and rallies is easy; simply taking to the streets with a flyer or having a discussion with those you come into contact with would be a simple and efficient way of spreading the message. Many people are of the mind that if they are committing no crimes they have nothing to hide, however it is vital to remember that cyber data collection makes you a criminal before you even log on. Anything you say, click, or view can and will be used against you. While you may be participating in completely legal and care-free cyber activity, imagine the manipulation and speculation that can occur when something you click is taken out of context. Such laws target indigenous communities, environmental activists, dissidents, and other minority groups who are legally protesting political abuse; many of whom are already subjected to questionable and over-reaching powers by security officials. This bill will make it easier and actually lawful for federal agencies to continue infringing upon the rights of peaceful citizens.
- Rejecting these bills is no easy feat. Some have been passed and others await only a signature before being enforced. That does not mean it is too late. If we do not protect what rights we have left, no one is going to protect them for us.
