This lion succeeded in reaching the hairy hip. Then one horrible hand took hold around his ribs, while another plucked at clinging limbs until the sharp claws popped free.
This unlucky feline found itself being held in two monster paws. He struggled. He roared. He growled. Twisting his supple body around and around, the lion attempted to wrest free of the clamping grip.
By reputation felines are among the most supple and flexible animals that go about on four paws. This sly feline almost succeeded in wriggling free. But blunt fingers squeezed down. Hard. Ribs crackled. The lion could do nothing about it.
Kong inserted his free fingers into the great spreading mane, found the small neck, and began wringing and twisting the head back and forth until there came a distinct crack of sound.
The lion went limp. Kong lifted it up, examining the pitiful thing, turning it in his hand, examining it from all sides. Then he took an experimental bite out of a haunch.
