- Information and declaration of consent to the collection, processing and use of your personal data in connection with the Uniper recruiting process
- Protecting your personal data and complying with the applicable data protection regulations are very important to us. We are hereby informing you about the collection, processing, storage and use of your personal data in the context of your application and participation in the Uniper recruiting process. Depending on your selection with respect to making your personal data available, we request that you read and acknowledge the following data protection law guidelines and approve the following appended data protection declaration. By your consent, you are declaring that you agree that your personal data being collected, processed, evaluated, transferred, stored and used by the specified Uniper companies (in the course of the application process) as described in the relevant section of this declaration.
- Your personal data will be collected, processed, stored and used by us in the following cases:
- 1. If you send it to us by regular mail
- 2. If you provide it to us on our careers web pages, particularly during your online registration
- 3. If you provide it to us for a talent retention program [Talentbindungsprogramm] (e.g., when accepted into our Talent Pool)
- 4. If it is necessary to complete your applicant profile
- By submitting an applicant profile including your personal data, the - employees involved in the recruiting process have access to your data within the scope selected by you. Your personal data will be accessible to the relevant human resources staff in the Uniper Group and will be provided to selected management staff in each case. In the context of functional management, this may also include management staff of other Group business units and Group companies. Functional management means that certain subject-specific and Group-wide areas (e.g. Legal, Accounting, HR, Procurement, but also generation types (water, nuclear, conventional, gas)) are centralized under single management for the entire Group. Therefore, it is possible that, depending on the job advertised, you could be employed at one company, while your manager(s) is (are) employed at another company.
- Depending on your selection, your application data may also be considered, outside of a specific job description, for other open positions in the Uniper Group.
- The login details for your applicant profile must be treated confidentially and carefully stored, in particular it is not permissible to disclose the login data to any third party. Any loss, accidental disclosure or misuse of the login data must be reported immediately to the phone number specified on our careers web page.
- You have three selection options as to how your personal data should be processed, although you may amend or revoke this selection at any time in your profile. Please choose one of these selection options and read the associated section of this declaration. Please print and retain the data protection declaration for your records.
- 1. My data can be used to consider me only for positions to which I have applied explicitly -
- Your data will be used exclusively in regards to filling the position/ positions to which you applied explicitly. It will not be disclosed beyond this within the Uniper Group.
- Should you wish to transfer your data for an application to a specific job only, please continue reading section A. Data protection information for ‘My data can be used to consider me only for positions to which I have applied explicitly’
- 2. My data can be used to consider me for open positions in my country of residence
- Your data will be disclosed within companies of the Uniper Group in regards to filling open positions in the country in which you reside. It will not be disclosed to fill open positions outside your country of residence.
- Should you wish to transfer your personal data for application to other nationwide positions, please continue reading section B. Data protection declaration for ‘My data can be used to consider me for open positions in my country of residence.
- 3. My data can be used to consider me for open positions worldwide Your data will be disclosed worldwide within the Uniper Group in regards to filling open positions. A limitation to certain countries intended.

- A. Data protection information for ‘My data can be used to consider me only for positions to which I have applied explicitly’
- I. Purpose of the data collection and processing and the company responsible for data processing
- This electronic recruitment portal is operated by Uniper HR Services Berlin GmbH as the central recruiting service for handling the staffing and application process for other companies in the Uniper Group also. For the following companies the handling is not provided by Uniper HR Services Berlin GmbH but by the respective holding company that is specified at the end of the individual job postings:
- Uniper Global Commodities US
- The company responsible for data processing for the relevant job posting is generally the Uniper Group company that is specified in the respective job posting. All personal data entered by you in the application portal, including the data from all attachments appended by you, will be collected, processed, evaluated, transferred, stored and used by Uniper HR Services Berlin GmbH (as the responsible company in the case of unsolicited applications, or approval for use of the application data nationally/internationally for inclusion in the Talent Pool), or on behalf of the company responsible for the relevant job posting, solely for the purposes of your application.
- II. Personal data
- When creating your applicant profile, it is necessary that you specify at least your first name and last name, your email address and the country in which you reside. Further on in the application process you may provide additional information relevant to the application, in order to complete your applicant profile.
- Certain types of personal data (information on racial and ethnic background, political views, religious and philosophical beliefs, trade union affiliation, health or sexual orientation) will not be intentionally collected by Uniper. Accordingly, we request that you make absolutely no statements regarding the aforementioned criteria in the context of your application.
- III. Data security
- Regardless of where your data is accessed, Uniper will ensure the protection of your personal data and compliance with regional laws and provisions concerning the collection, processing, evaluation, disclosure, storage and use of data. Your personal data will not be transferred to third parties outside of the Uniper Group, unless you have given your consent or the transfer is required by an official order. The data will be stored by a service provider, which is commissioned by us, on a server within the European Union pursuant to the data protection regulations in effect. The data in your online application will be encrypted on the transmission route.
- IV. Data storage
- In the event that you do not cause the deletion of your data on the application portal, we generally will store your personal data for a maximum of 3 months after the conclusion of the application process, unless a longer or shorter storage is necessary for legal or statutory reasons. The period commences upon receipt of the rejection of your application. This period will apply to each of your applications.
- You can find the different record retention periods for job postings in specific countries in section D.
- V. Data access
- Access to the personal data provided in your application profile will be granted to all necessary persons within the Uniper Group in each case in order to be able to fill the open positions. Your personal data will be accessible to the relevant human resources staff in the Uniper Group and will be provided to selected management staff in each case. In the context of functional management, this may also include management staff of other Group business units and Group companies. Functional management means that certain subject-specific and Group-wide areas (e.g. Legal, Accounting, HR, Procurement, but also generation types (water, nuclear, conventional, gas)) are centralized under single management for the entire Group. Therefore, it is possible that, depending on the job advertised, you could be employed at one company, while your manager(s) is (are) employed at another company. Depending on the option selected by you with respect to your application, other companies have access to your data. Furthermore, selected employees of commissioned data processors of the Uniper Group will have access to your personal data in order to be able to perform and fulfil their administrative and support duties. Your personal data will be transferred to places which, e.g. operate the services or provide specific services, solely for a specific purpose in the context of the order processing in accordance with the provisions of data protection law.
- VI. Accuracy of the data
- You guarantee that the personal data provided by you is true, correct and up to date. You may correct or delete your own information or withdraw your application at any time.
- VII. Data retrieval, administration and deletion, right of objection
- You are able, at any time, to view the personal data, which you provided via the application portal, and, using your login data, to change and/or delete such data. Your consent to having your data in the candidate profile processed can be revoked by deleting such data. Furthermore, you are entitled at any time to have any personal data in your candidate profile deleted, to object to the processing of the data and to have incorrect data corrected. If you apply for a job, your personal application data will be stored for the minimum time we are legally obligated to store the data and information you have provided when applying. This also applies if you have withdrawn your application or deleted your candidate Profile.
- VIII. Inclusion in the Talent Pool
- In the context of the application process, we will check whether we can offer to include you into our Talent Pool. This is a database in which your applicant data will be stored in order to be able to consider you directly for any suitable open position. At the relevant time during the application process, we would inform you of this opportunity and invite you into our Talent Pool.
- If you are accepted into the Talent Pool and your personal data is stored therein, then the data will be deleted in accordance with the corresponding abovementioned data protection principles, subject to the proviso that we will request an update of your data if your profile has not been updated or used over a period of twelve months. If you do not update the data after that, then we will remove you from the Talent Pool and delete your personal data and your applicant profile.
