The Fighter and the Wizard

<WinsonPaine> One night I dreamed I was walking through a dungeon with a wizard.
<WinsonPaine>              Many scenes from my life flashed across the roof.
<WinsonPaine>                   In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
<WinsonPaine>                        Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
<WinsonPaine>                            other times there were one set of footprints.
<WinsonPaine>                                   This bothered me because I noticed
<WinsonPaine>                                 that during the low periods of my life,
<WinsonPaine>                              when I was suffering from
<WinsonPaine>                          anguish, sorrow or defeat,
<WinsonPaine>                      I could see only one set of footprints.
<WinsonPaine>           So I said to the wizard,
<WinsonPaine>       "You promised me wizard,
<WinsonPaine>          that if I followed you,
<WinsonPaine>              you would walk with me always.
<WinsonPaine>                    But I have noticed that during
<WinsonPaine>                           the most trying periods of my life
<WinsonPaine>                                  there have only been one
<WinsonPaine>                                        set of footprints in the sand.
<WinsonPaine>                                            Why, when I needed you most,
<WinsonPaine>                                           you have not been there for me?"
<WinsonPaine>                                  The wizard replied,
<WinsonPaine>                           "The times when you have
<WinsonPaine>                   seen only one set of footprints,
<WinsonPaine>           is when I was invisible and flying."
