1. Use a VPN(One that is well-known / reviewed for it's privacy policy) and configure your VPN client to always use the VPN connection.
2. Join a private tracker
3. Always use HTTPS / SSL / TLS versions of Torrent sites and trackers
4. Force your torrent client to always use encryption
5. Change the port your torrent client runs on to something more standard(E.g. 8080)
6. Disable DHT +PEX and Local Peer Discovery in your client
