DiscoDude: Session logging commenced
GM: (Lightrunner)
“Stop,” said Dee. “Let me check.” He fiddled with his compact and brought up to his face and had a quick, whispered argument. Finally he snapped the compact shut hard enough that Lightrunner thought he heard something in it break, and reared on the Prawn.
“I speak to boss,” he nearly screamed, “and he say he NEVER CHANGE DESTINATION! YOU LIAR!”
GM: (Is it alright that we start here?)
Lightrunner: [sure]
Lightrunner: He looks back, throws them his pager, and continues to walk off, "Then your boss is a dirty liar."
GM: (Pirrue)
Everything is just an inky blackness. Pirrue could still hear a muffled ringing.
Pirrue: struggles to open her eyes, or find any thing that isn't darkness. Where's that noise coming from?...
GM: (Lightrunner)
“Accuse chief of lying?!” said the larger Dum.
“Ha,” said Dee, “there is no text from boss on here!” He holds it up, showing that the last text on it was from... 2 years ago?
“Not go anywhere!” It is at that point that Dum leaps to tackle the prawn.
Lightrunner: "Machine in the Ghost!" He yells as a shadowy figure comes out from his shadow with three white I's, forming into a set of three knives as they tried to leap at him. The prawn sprinting as their stand floated there in knife form.
GM: (Pirrue)
She can’t move. When she strains her ears, however, she can pick up muffled voices, and there was a strange tingling sensation on her neck and back that was beginning to spread across her body.
GM: (Lightrunner is outside?)
Pirrue: keeps struggling. Can she feel her limbs?...
Lightrunner: [He was already going towards the exit.]
GM: (So still inside, technically?)
Lightrunner: [I guess? Do whatever you want]
GM: (Lightrunner)
Before Lightrunner could make it out the shutter door, Dum himself called out; “[MIGHT BE GIANTS]!” And the way was blocked by a large, featureless blue giant hunched down just outside, just as he protected his vitals from the knives with his arms and legs (though he was still bleeding when got himself off of them). There was a crash as a second giant appeared crouched inside the storage room, pushing boxes to the side as it did. An alarm was sounding now.
“DUM! You contemptible fool! I was not ready for summoning!”
“SHUT, DEE!” The first giant reached into the building to try and grab Lightrunner.
Lightrunner: "Useless!" He yelled as the knives had vanished, in his hands were a heavy rifle of sorts, he loaded in the bullet and took aim at the hand, "I hope you don't mind a .50 Caliber turning your arm into meat, Dee." He then fired the rifle, and turned to the metal of the warehouse.
GM: (Pirrue)
Pirrue’s vision began to blur back into existence, and she could see blurry figures standing over her. Her hearing was clearing up as well, but she still couldn’t move; Ayep, that was the sound of an alarm alright.
“... can’t lose you like this!”
“Please, honey, she was going to die sooner than later anyways. You know that. Although... I didn’t expect it to be this soon.”
“Hey, I think she’s waking up! Wake up so I can kick your ass for dying, rival!”
GM: (Where is Lightrunner running to?)
Lightrunner: [Just to a different wall of the warehouse.]
GM: (So, further into the museum, or did you think there was another way outside?)
Lightrunner: (He'll make a way out.)
GM: (Ah.)
GM: (Pirrue, I just posted.)
Pirrue: "What...?" She tries to wrestle herself upright and looks around.
GM: (Lightrunner)
“You can’t run from us!” What appears to be Dee’s giant picks up a rather large crate and throws it at Lightrunner!
Lightrunner: [ <@!GM> You did take notes of Machine in the Ghost, right? I can't seem to find mine. So what can't Lightrunner do with his stand? ]
GM: (Uh...)
GM: (I’ve got nothing, sorry.)
GM: (I guess you can’t make the objects too big?)
Lightrunner: [Yeah, well this is going to be neat.]
GM: (And I guess nothing chemically fancy.)
GM: (Like, making C4 out of shadow is a hard “no.”)
Lightrunner: [Yeah.]
GM: (Pirrue)
She’s able to twitch her fingers and move her tongue inside her mouth (everything tasted fuzzy), just as her vision cleared and she could see the faces of her parents, a couple of guards, and Crede.
Lightrunner: As the crate crashes, Lightrunner seems to have been moved to the side, barely being smashed by the crate. He shakes his wrist, glaring at Dum. He takes out the rifle, and puts the bullet in. "Actually, I might as well aim at you." He takes aim at Dum's skull and pulls the trigger.
GM: (Pirrue)
She’s able to twitch her fingers and move her tongue inside her mouth (everything tasted fuzzy), just as her vision cleared and she could see the faces of her parents, a couple of guards, and Crede.
Pirrue: "...oh. You again," she mutters. She tries to get to her feet. "What just happened? I just..." She looks around, a sudden thought hitting her like a bullet. "Where's the box? Where's the Heart-Shaped Box? Is it safe?!?"
GM: (Lightrunner)
As he gets the shot off, the indoor giant’s hand is suddenly between him and Dum, catching the shot and sending bits of its palm onto the floor.
“%^#&&$!!!” Dee growled as his palm burst into a fountain of blood, on top of the grazed shoulder. “DUM! NOW!”
Suddenly, just as Lightrunner is registering that the giant outside was gone, its massive hand tore straight through the wall and closed around him!
Lightrunner: He looks as the hand comes around him, and smiks. "Useless." When the giant's hand wrapped around Lightrunner, sets of spikes broke through the hand, piercing from the palm through the fingers and the back hand of the hand.
GM: (Pirrue)
Pirrue could still barely move, but she could move her head enough to see the podium. Where once was a box, there was now only burn marks on its surface. And yet, not even ash remained of the box itself. Like it disappeared in a column of flame. Above it was a rope extending up to an open skylight.
“Try not to strain yourself, sweety!” Her dad could get really overbearing. Off in the distance, sirens could be heard.
Pirrue: "No. No no no no no no no no." She tries to drag herself over towards the podium. It had to still be here, right? Maybe it'd just fallen over behind...
GM: (Lightrunner)
Dum cursed as his hand was now bleeding as well. But then, sirens could be heard as Alphonse Pawe re-entered the room.
“Didn’t any of you receive my text? The police have set up a perimeter, so if you don’t want to make the news, I suggest you get inside and-” he stopped after surveying the room, “... act... natural.” He pressed his fingers to his forehead. “Not even going to ask. Put your goddamn Stands away, get patched up, and come on.” He leaves as the Duran Twins straightened up in salute, and the two giants disappeared. Dee turned around.
”You are lucky,” he said, and the two went up after their boss.
Lightrunner: He stood, there, and smirked, waiting for their boss to leave, he then began to walk onto the wall and then hung from the ceiling, "You really think the police will deal with me?" He smirked to himself and began to silently walk across the ceiling, looking for a skylight to escape through, or anything really.
GM: (Pirrue)
It wasn’t behind the podium, either. Strangely enough, none of the paintings adorning the room’s six available walls were missing.
“Alright,” said one of the guards, “can you, uh...” It’s clear that this museum guard was not prepared to interrogate the victim of a murder. “Can you tell us what happened?”
GM: (I was thinking you two would actually meet this time... >_>)
Lightrunner: [Oh well, maybe later.]
Pirrue: (i don't even know where Lightrunner is or what he's really doing and i have a feeling the feeling is mutual)
Pirrue: "I'll tell* you what happened!" Pirrue shrieks. "MY MASTERPIECE HAS BEEN STOLEN!"
Lightrunner: [I mean hey, could get caught by a chopper or something.]
Lightrunner: [Could get shoot by a tranq as well, by the chopper]
GM: (Lightrunner)
He was able to find a window, when a Scrycoon man in what appears to be a dress storms into the room, followed by a reporter, a few guards, and what appeared to be a younger, female version of himself - his daughter?
“I- WHAT HAPPENED HERE?!” He looks in every direction but up, then collapses to his knees. “Oh, everything is ruined! My shining star is murdered, her masterpiece is stolen, and now all this?! What even...” He starts bawling as the guards go to turn off the room’s alarm.
“There, there,” said the younger Scrycoon.
GM: (There; if he isn’t convinced to look into this now, it can be his first lead in the next session.)
Pirrue: (wait, are we talking about ending this session like, already? o_O; )
GM: (No, I mean if he doesn’t get around to it.)
Lightrunner: As Lightrunner was about to crash through the window, he looks up, or in this case, down. And listens in on this conversation. "Blah blah masterpiece, shining star, blah blah ..." He thinks to himself. Still looking at them from above.
GM: (Pirrue)
“Ha! We can see that,” said Crede, “but why were you dead, rival?!”
Pirrue’s hand unconsciously went to her own throat, and she could still feel the wet cut there. There was also this dull pain in her abdomen, where a gash was made in her clothes, but it was quickly going away.
Pirrue: "Dammit...not this. Not now. Not while I'm still this young..."
Pirrue: There are a dozen different emotions roiling within her right now, but rage seems like the one that's winning the contest.
GM: (Lightrunner)
After comforting her father(?), the younger Scrycoon snapped her fingers, and went over to the smashed crate. “I wonder if anything survived this,” she said, got down on her hands and knees, and started rummaging. “Ah- huh? I think I see the Stand Arrow?”
“The Stand Arrow?! I thought that was on display?!”
“And its bow. But something is missing? Strange.”
“Curator Groovejet, sir” said one of the guards, “we have a perimeter set up with the police, but I’m sure they would want you to answer some questions.”
“Of course, of course,” responded Groovejet. Banding back together, the group went back into the museum.
Lightrunner: His eyes flare up, "Stand Arrow? Now that is something I very much want!" As they slowly group up back into the museum, he waits for them to fully go in before he lands on and examines the damage. "Where is that arrow? If it has that tip..."
GM: (By the door, you mean the broken crate she examined?)
Lightrunner: [Did they take it?]
GM: (Not that you could see.)
GM: (Pirrue)
“Honey, focus,” said mom, “what do you remember?”
Lightrunner: [Made an edit.]
Pirrue: "I remember..." She clenches her fists. The anger is clouding her recollections. "I remember coming in here. I was going to make sure the Box was running perfectly for its unveiling. And then, someone..." The words, the actions, all are a blur - but she has the intense need to hit something now, and she slugs the podium. "Thief! Murderer! As soon as I find him, I'm going to END him!"
Pirrue: (uh)
GM: (Lightrunner)
Inside the smashed remains of the crate are: a lot of packing straw, the broken pieces of some pots, and... yup, what appears to be the Stand Bow, and its Arrow, completely intact except for... there’s the fletch, there’s the shaft... but where is the arrowhead?
Pirrue: (okay, there you go)
Pirrue: (was worried for a sec)
GM: (Sorry, dinner was happening, so I was a little slow.)
Lightrunner: He blinks for while, and stops scowering, putting anything he had touched back, "Well, this sucks." He spoke allowed, looked around for an exit and came up with a thought, "Did the Pawe family take the arrowhead?" He takes a good while, and decides to make his way to the new building, there was a slight chance that they took the arrowhead, hell they even had stands.
GM: (Ah, so Lightrunner knows exactly what’s up regarding Stands and such?)
Lightrunner: (Yeah, pretty much.)
GM: (I was wondering about his nonplussed attitude towards [THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS]. XD)
Lightrunner: (That's why he wanted that arrowhead so badly.)
Lightrunner: (He'd probably keep it with him.)
GM: (Pirrue)
“Uh- hey!” A Rock Candies in a sweater, skirt, and wielding a pen and paper in her hands, worms her way through the crowd that formed. “Is there really nothing else you can remember? Be as detailed as- hey!” A guard tried to force her back into the crowd while shouting something about not disturbing the witness. Come to think of it, he was sporting quite the black eye, and Floyd, who happened to be nearby, had a lump on his head. They look like they had unsuccessfully tried to stop Crede from stepping in, considering she wasn’t exactly next of kin or one of the staff.
Pirrue: keeps clenching her fists. She doesn't want to deal with this now. She doesn't want to deal with any of it. She has to find the bastard who did this to her. Here, now, of all times and places! She looks for the nearest exit and charges through the crowd towards it before she has an absolute breakdown. "URRRRRRRRGH!"
Lightrunner: [I just realized...Lightrunner could have just went through the massive hole in the wall made by the Giants]
GM: (Lightrunner & Pirrue)
As Lightrunner made his way in, it occurred to him how strange it was that not only were the Pawe goons under the impression that the Arrow was sent to the wrong address, but it was also in the completely wrong box. He snapped back to attention at the sounds of a commotion down the left hallway. Suddenly, a... cat? A cat nearly collides with him coming from that direction, wearing overalls and had... mushrooms coming out of her back?
GM: (Fixed. :3)
Lightrunner: "Hold it!" He yells, and tries to catch up with the cat.
Pirrue: ignores the newcomer. She's got no idea where to start looking but she's going to find whoever did this and mess them up royally!
GM: (GM -> Lightrunner -> Pirrue, while not split up.)
GM: (BRB, dishes. XP)
GM: (Feel free to break here. I’ll be back in a few.)
Lightrunner: [ Gotcha ]
Lightrunner: [ <@!Pirrue> What does your stand do again? ]
Pirrue: [it's called Sabotage, and it infiltrates and controls machinery]
Lightrunner: [Oooh, gotcha]
Lightrunner: [Can it be anything mechanical, like a crane or a radio? Or is it strictly clockwork?]
Pirrue: (moving parts only; not necessarily clockwork though)
Pirrue: (crank a car engine, or make it stall or explode)
Pirrue: (unlock a door)
Pirrue: (even a safe door)
Pirrue: (she could force a radio to turn on and tune to a specific channel remotely)
GM: (Alright, I’m back.)
Lightrunner: [Gotcha]
Lightrunner: [So, in theory, Pirrue can make a Gun unload the mag and eject the bullet, right?]
GM: Groovejet’s entourage comes into view.
“AEEEEEEEEEK!” Groovejet himself screamed in terror.
“Father, calm down,” said Miyavi, “she’s part Necropossum, remember?”
“Ah- Right. Oh, Pirrue, I was so distraught when we found you, I-“ but Pirrue was already past them by the time she could register their existence, with Lightrunner in tow.
Pirrue: (yeah. but she'd either need to be touching the gun, or have a clean line of transmission, as it were)
Lightrunner: "I said, hold it, right. There." He puts a hand on Pirrue's shoulder.
Pirrue: casts her eyes about for a weapon. Something heavy and made of metal, ideally. Whoever did this can't have gotten far. Of course she's not thinking clearly, so they could actually be miles away, but letting the rage run its course is a better option in her mind than actually confronting what's just been done to her.
Pirrue: freezes.
Pirrue: "...who are you and what do you want," she says, anger in her voice but fear in her chest. It's been too soon since she was last grabbed from behind...
GM: “Ah... Hold on, that is a very good question,” said Groovejet. “Were you invited?”
Lightrunner: He glares at Groovejet, their eyes a flame with a bright light, and snaps back to Pirrue, ingoring Groovejet for the time being, "That doesn't matter, I heard you lost something of your's, something got stolen, I might be able to help, and maybe get some payback on whoever killed you." He points at the blood and the healed wound. "But first thing is first, do you know what this address is to?" He then says the name of the address.
GM: (O-kay? Not sure how Pirrue’s supposed to react to that. XD)
Lightrunner: [Made an edit.]
Lightrunner: [You know, the address for where the box was going.]
Pirrue: pulls away. "Notta clue." She looks at the newcomer, appraisingly. "...How do I know I can trust you?" She's never seen this man before in her life, but she's offering her revenge, something Groovejet and her parents can't.
GM: (he’s)
Lightrunner: [545 Abbey Road is the address]
Lightrunner: [Had to scroll up to find it.]
Pirrue: (would Pirrue know where that is?)
Pirrue: ('cause OOC I sure as hell don't)
Lightrunner: [Yeah]
GM: (Nope.)
GM: “Sir?” Floyd comes up behind Groovejet, along with several other people, including Pirrue’s parents.
“Floyd,” said Groovejet, “can you tell me if this one was invited? He doesn’t seem to want to tell me. What’s your name, by the way?”
Lightrunner: "First name is Bussiness, and Last name is Nunya."
GM: (Pirrue?)
Pirrue: "He's with me, and that's all that matters," Pirrue intones. "Come on. We're going to find us a killer and a thief and beat him senseless."
Lightrunner: "Sounds like a plan." He then thought to himself, "Is this really happening? Did she really just let me tag along for revenge? Pretty fucking bizarre."
GM: (Hm... I guess there’s one more group you can encounter before your parents decide it’s time to go... Got anything before I spring it, Pirrue?)
Pirrue: (not really. tbh it's been long enough i don't really remember who any of the other players are here.)
Pirrue: (by players I mean NPCs)
GM: Another hallway, another person that just looks like a guest. By the time it finally dawned on her that her killer may not be here, Pirrue was back in the main gala hall. As he was following her, Lightrunner noticed Alphonse Pawe out of the corner of his eye, talking down vehemently to the Gnolls, making it almost feel as if he were the larger specimen.
Lightrunner: He snaps his head towards Alphonse Pawe and stares directly at him, stopping in his tracks to give him a solid stare of disdain.
Pirrue: _notices where her new partner-in-crime is looking. "Is that him? Do you think he could be the killer?" She's still looking around for something she can use like a bat. Ideally something made of metal. Something that will hurt._
Lightrunner: "He's just an ass, forgot to pay me, Alphonse Pawe or whatever."
Pirrue: shakes her head. "Let's ignore him for now, then. Come to think of it, who are you, anyway? You don't look like you belong at the gala. Not that I'm complaining." She grins at this last statement.
Pirrue: ( <@!Lightrunner> ?)
Lightrunner: [ It's the GM's turn, then it is mine. ]
Lightrunner: [ pauses...wait I also fucked up my turn, whoops]
GM: (Nah, you go ahead, she asked you a question. I’ll be right behind you.)
Lightrunner: [Gotcha]
Lightrunner: "I'm just a freelancer, get hired, do whatever." He looks at her, "Hefucked me over though, didn't pay me for the job, at all."
Pirrue: rubs her torso wound. "Wanna get back at him, right here, right now? Just tell me where I can find something to hit people with..."
GM: It is then that Alphonse notices the pair.
“Ah, there you are,” he says as he walks toward them. “You have quite the audacity, what with sending the Arrow to the wrong address and then blaming my message for it when no such message was sent. In fact, you’re lucky we can’t do anything here in public, or else I-“ He glances at Pirrue and pauses.
...
“You appear to ‘turn me on,’ miss. I would like to kiss you and see if we are romantically compatible, if that is okay.” He looks back at Lightrunner. “If that is unacceptable, then get out of my sight. You are distracting me.”
GM: (I bet you weren’t expecting the son of a don to be this socially inept, huh? XD)
Lightrunner: He blinks twice, "Are you inbred?" He says directly at Alphonse, "Sounds like you got a pretty low gene pool." The shadowy figure that is his stand appears in Alphonse's shadow, readying to strike at his spine.
Pirrue: _immediately steps behind Lightrunner, taken aback by Alphone's...forwardness. To someone her* age, no less! "You have my permission," she breathes, "to kick his ass."_
GM: “A simple ‘no’ would have sufficed,” he said, sighing. “Whatever. I don’t have the patience for this.” He turns around, takes a start at Lightrunner’s Stand, and turns around to say; “seriously?” Lightrunner feels his Stand freeze up. Alphonse walks away, motioning over a few of the guards to escort him and the Gnolls out. (Pirrue doesn’t know what that last line was about.)
Lightrunner: He looks at his stand no moving before he can finally control it, "What the fuck...?" He looked at him leave and was able to move his stand again and let it dissapate. "Well, that was shitty, well, we have to go ahead and go towards the address now, let's go."
Lightrunner: [Also, if your stand is frozen, you also cannot move yourself, but since you know, Machine in the Ghost only involves the eyes and another thing, he can still move around, although probably not his eyes and has to stare wide open instead.]
Lightrunner: [That other thing being the "Third Eye." but that's just him dying for real.]
GM: It took him a while before his eyes were no longer numb from cold, either. In fact, he hadn’t even noticed until then that they were cold.
Lightrunner: [Oh jesus christ.]
Pirrue: "Um...fella? Pal? Guy? Dude?" She still doesn't know his name. "You okay there?"
Lightrunner: [We just fucked up the turn order.]
GM: (Eh, it broke down a while ago.)
Lightrunner: He rubs his eyes, "Oh so he literally freezes me, bastard." He turns to Pirrue, "Yeah, I'm fine, my name is Ink G." He looks at her, "We really gotta go though."
GM: “Pirrue! There you are!” Pirrue’s mother picked her way through the crowd, with her husband close behind. “The police are finally letting us leave. I think it’s time we went home for tonight, what do you say?”
Lightrunner: [That's actually a pretty OP stand, freezing people. Good thing Lightrunner just needs a weapon next time to do something.]
Pirrue: "NO! I'm not going home till I find the bastard who did...who did THIS!" She makes a point of pulling open her throat wound, letting the gala patrons get a good look at the blood and gore.
Lightrunner: [Unless he can also freeze people AND Stands]
Pirrue: stares angrily at Alphonse.
Pirrue: "F-find Groovejet or whoever's in charge and...and make this bastard let my friend go!" she says to her parents.
Lightrunner: [Wait what?]
GM: (Who’s holding Lightrunner...?)
GM: (Nobody, last I checked?)
Lightrunner: [Yeah, he just froze my Stand.]
Lightrunner: [Quite literally]
GM: (An exchange she couldn’t even see...)
Lightrunner: [Yup.]
GM: (What’s this about letting him go, Pirrue?)
GM: (Anyways...)
GM: SLAP!
...
There’s silence as Pirrue recovers.
...
“Calm yourself. What makes you think your killer is even still here?”
At this point, her father sheepishly approaches. “Ah- um... Listen to your mother, please. You need rest after... all that...”
GM: (That the wake-up call she needed?)
GM: (It was her mother that slapped her, if that wasn’t clear.)
GM: (She really isn’t the hitting type, usually. ;))
Pirrue: looks around again. Tears are starting to well in her eyes. The rage is subsiding, replaced with...shame. Sadness. These are the exact feelings she let her anger run wild to suppress.
Pirrue: "...we're going home," she mutters, dazed and confused and realizing just how helpless she is.
GM: (I was thinking you at least exchange numbers, and Lightrunner goes off to investigate the address, which sets things up nicely for the encounter Pirrue’s about to have next time. :3)
GM: (Sound good?)
GM: (Of course, we still play it out.)
GM: (Guys?)
Lightrunner: [Sorry, I'm here again]
Lightrunner: Ink. G gives her a slip of paper for his compact number, "We'll keep in touch."
Lightrunner: [I also realized that, somehow, multiple cans of food were gone, a lot of microwaveable food is gone, four cans of seltzer water gone, and three bars of granola are gone too, the fuck happened last night while I passed out.]
GM: (Pfft.)
GM: (Pirrue?)
Lightrunner: [Did my brother have like four friends over and they devoured the entire grocery store?]
Pirrue: "...yeah." Silently, Pirrue hands back a fancy business card Groovejet had made for her. The world seemed so different just a couple hours ago...
Lightrunner: He takes it and makes a contact right then and there, "And first name?"
Pirrue: (it's on the card)
Pirrue: (Pirrue Tedeschi)
GM: (Should I finish this off?)
GM: (I guess I will.)
GM: Having just shocked the crowd around her moments before, Pirrue goes off with her parents to try and rest at home! Meanwhile, clutching the business card he just traded with her for, Ink G, aka Lightrunner departs another way to investigate the address he may have gotten tricked into redirecting a package to! So concludes the first arc of a brand new Bizarre Adventure; [Heist at the Grand Metropolitan, Part 2]!
