Flames

There was a silvery flash of light right in front of the now empty-handed
D, and the Hunter soared through the air like the shadow had. As he closed
in after him, the ash-gray shadow swung his left hand.
A metal cylinder struck the floor, sending pillars of flame up toward D.
Fending off the flames born of the ultracompact atomic grenade with
the hem of his coat, D came to a halt. Behind him was a stone wall.
