- A loud squeal of electronic feedback erupted into the air.
- "We have you surrounded! Come out with your hands
- up. No funny business. You ain't getting out of here alive!"
- One hunter from the group shouted through the loudspeaker feature of his helmet. If there were any other trackers out there, they now knew their location.
- "Just shut up and get down," Rhea snarled, tugging Alek behind a boulder.
- The five men eased closer toward the ship, tightening their circle. Suddenly, chaos erupted. One man set off a tripwire. A netted trap, invisible to the eye, curled around him, the strands squeezing his body. It sliced through his armor like butter, doing much quicker work with his flesh, leaving chunks small enough to be dog food. At the same time, a spear shot from nowhere, piercing a second man through the chest. A large blade plunged into another man's helmet, coming out the opposite side, lodging into a rock not far from where Rhea and Alek hid. A large weapon shaped like a shuriken circled the air from the opposite end of the field.
- It caught the fourth bounty hunter, carried him across the dust, and pinned him harshly against the ship. His helmet cracked from another ricocheted blade, breaking in two. The acidic rain sizzled as his face melted to the bone, cutting off
- his scream. And the final man barely had time to react as his head exploded in a spray of murky red. It all occurred within seconds, annihilating each bounty hunter before all but one could even scream.-pg.295-296 chpt.11
