- Because he did. His lyrics are all freestyled, so inbetween all those clever bars and similes, that stuff he’s saying about himself? That’s not a character or song concept..it’s him. He’s using his music as coping mechanism, and disguising it with “subversion” the way Future does. One or two sad bars inbetween all the other fun parts.
- Difference with Juice is..It was never performative, or fake, or part of the aesthetic. It was actually how he was feeling. It’s whatever he’s actually taking at the moment. What he’s been doing lately. How he’s dealing with it all.
- It always was.
- You can’t go off the dome constantly the way he did without involving your subconscious. He sounded so earnest and believable for that reason alone. If you haven’t, you should really listen to all of his songs as if he’s talking about himself.
- There’s a reason DRFL is much sadder than most people give it credit for. When you consider its actually him speaking in all these songs, it really reads more like a farewell note that says he won’t stop working hard, he did his best to try and beat his demons, but ultimately failed.
- Suddenly, you realize he really did put his heart in the bag, so no one would get hurt. That he was actually living too fast and feeling bad.
- That due to treating his life like it was a race to find refuge in drugs, it instead became a death sentence and his addiction a maze he can’t see the way out of.
- That despite his fame, fortune and stronger drugs to keep his demons at bay, he feels emptier than he ever has and is considering rushing the inevitable.
- And...if you don’t read the Bees Knees as two sides of Juice, one heavy on bravado, clever wordplay, energy and swagger at the beginning, and then..this sadder, more depressed, incoherent Juice, still confident, but slurring his words in the outro and barely getting through it, making no real point aside from being really messed up?
- Yeah. That side closes out the song for a reason. You’re seeing which side is actually winning.
- That’s exactly what “I’ve run away, I don’t think I’m coming back home” means. He’s done so much to escape himself that he’s becoming someone he no longer recognizes.
- -“In the grass I see the serpents, when I’m roaming off the syrup, it’s like I’m a whole different person, it’s kind of amazing to see ”

- It makes sense. You could even say he was been consciously, slowly killing Jarad so that Juice WRLD could continue to rise and be a reality for the people that needed him.
- aka:
- “I took my demons to the bank of life and made the ultimate deposit.” -Maze
- He absolutely knew that he went about it the wrong way, But that it’s also too late for him. Once they’ve decided it’s over, they’re just waiting at that point, unfortunately.
- Righteous was the last song he was seen working on for a reason, and I honestly feel that Smile specifically was only to be released only if he did pass in the way he had.
- But he did predict it, and he always let us know, through freestyles or bars in his songs that he was certain he was going to die soon, but that it would be on his terms.
- “In too deep, life is an ocean, I float off the purple potion, if I catch it, fuck it, imma smoke em” - Big Boy Freestyle
- “Lately, I’ve been getting no peace, OD, feel like overdosing, lowkey.” - Empty
- -“My hand on my trigger, imma die with respect” - Fast
- -“When it’s my time I’ll know” -Righteous
- -“Imma be alone until it’s finished”
- “I stopped taking the drugs, and now the drugs take me”
- - Wishing Well
- “They tell me that I'm finna OD in no time, I told 'em I'll do it on my time, not your time”
- - Can’t Die
- -“I got codeine in my cup, every day I’m pouring up, I sip it and I pray to god that I’m not throwing up” - HOT97 Freestyle 137
- And my least favorites:
- -“Suicide if you try to take my drugs”
- I vibe in this bitch/
- Rolling up a blunt of OG , I’ll get high in this bitch/
- Mix it with the pills and liquor, I might die in this bitch
- Did I do that shit on purpose?
- ...Suicide in this bitch?
