  1. PFAS accumulate in humans primarily through ingestion, inhalation, or skin contact. They are often found in contaminated water, food packaging, non-stick cookware, and certain industrial products. Once inside the body, PFAS bind to proteins in the blood and are not easily broken down or excreted. Over time, they accumulate in tissues, particularly in the liver and kidneys, because the body has no efficient mechanism to eliminate them. This long-term buildup can lead to health problems, including increased cancer risk, immune system suppression, and other chronic conditions.
