= Kobolds =
Kobolds (kopo) are small carnivorous mammalian humanoids with digitigrade legs, fox-like ears, and a fox-like tail. Kobolds are eusocial, parthenogentic, and egg-laying.

Kobolds are smaller and shorter-lived than humans, with the average kobold standing no more than 1 meter tall and living no more than 40 years. In addition to the standard humanoid body plan, kobolds possess large fox-like ears on the tops of their heads and long, bushy tails. Kobold legs are digitgrade and both fingers and toes end in short, nail-like claws.

Kobolds have brown skin and sandy hair. Kobold fur, which covers their ears and tail, is the same sandy color, though kobold tails darken towards the tip.

== Queen ==
Queens (tsspa) are the kobold egg-laying caste, laying two to four eggs every year. In addition to laying eggs, queens produce queen pheromone, which is responsible for suppressing the reproduction of other kobolds in the colony, and egg pheromone, which marks the queen's eggs. All colonies have at least one queen; if a colony is left without a queen, a worker will develop into queen.

=== Hidden Queens ===
Hidden queens (yusso) are queens who do not produce queen pheromone or egg pheromone. By suppressing their pheromones, a hidden queen can lay eggs without attracting the attention of their colony's queen or their fellow workers. As hidden queens do not produce egg pheromone, their eggs are usually destroyed when found.

== Worker ==
Workers (ksske) are the main kobold caste, performing the majority of the work inside and outside the nest. Workers typically work alone, though they can recruit fellow workers for larger jobs.
