DiscoDude: ---BEGIN SESSION---
DiscoDude: Session logging commenced
GM: > EXCHANGE #4
Madelena: The tiger groans as she peels herself off from the wall, with one of her shaky hands goes into one of the many pockets surrounding her clothes...and pulls another dagger, a longer one that she grips with both hands as she rushes forward, her objective being to land a hit in her enemies' heart...does this guy have a heart? she doesn't worry about that. (Attacking with Careful!)
GM: <"Applying evasive maneuvers.">
Madelena: !f 3
DiscoDude: <@Madelena> rolled 4dF+3 for 4 [4dF = [+][-][+][ ]]
GM: !f 2 (QUICK)
DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4dF+2 for 2 [4dF = [+][ ][ ][-]]
GM: (Would you like to boost?)
Madelena: (Boosting would make me win...so yeah, I will boost!)
GM: (With your HC again, I assume? For the record, it's not quite an instant win, but it was a wise boost nonetheless.)
Madelena: (Yeah, as always.)
GM: It seems the metal armor isn't all that well maintained - it splits apart with a *CRACK!
<"Warning: Damage critical!">
He's going to have a tougher time defending with a Shattered Chassis [!]!
GM: TSD66: [1][x][x]
Mild (x): Shattered Chassis
GM: However, even in this claustrophobic space - nay, because* of it - TSD66 does have one ace up their sleeve; that last attack had to have agitated the caustic flower that had happened to have taken root in their torso.
<"I have not yet solved your language: More samples required. However, if you can at all understand me, I advise you to stop and vacate the immediate premises if you value your life.">
GM: (Attacking with Clever!)
GM: !f 2 (CLEVER)
DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4dF+2 for 2 [4dF = [ ][-][ ][+]]
Madelena: Madelena pays no heed to the mad ramblings of this guy...she then looks at the flower, and takes a deep breath...she will need it.
Madelena: !f 1 (Defending with FORCEFUL!)
DiscoDude: <@Madelena> rolled 4dF+1 for 2 [4dF = [ ][+][ ][ ]]
GM: (That's a tie - a boost! I believe you're out of Fate points, and Shattered Chassis [!] doesn't really apply.)
Madelena: (Guess you got me this time!)
GM: It's true, you don't breath any of the resulting pollen dust in, but now the tiger known as Madelena is trapped *Holding Her Breath with no reprieve in sight!
GM: > EXCHANGE #5
Madelena: Madelena had a hand covering her mouth as her teary eyes looked at the TSD, she pulled another of her small knives -her sharpest one- and threw it directly at the flower!
GM: (Attacking or creating an advantage?)
Madelena: (Attacking, Quick and with my Stunt.)
Madelena: !f 4 (QUICK with Stunt power-up!)
DiscoDude: <@Madelena> rolled 4dF+4 for 4 [4dF = [ ][-][+][ ]]
GM: !f 2 (QUICK)
DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4dF+2 for 4 [4dF = [ ][+][ ][+]]
Madelena: (I bet we both will invoke something, won't we?)
GM: (I'll be invoking \Holding Her Breath for a flat victory.)
GM: (I assume you'll invoke Shattered Chasis [!]?)
Madelena: (Yep)
GM: (That leaves a tie. I'll allow it through.)
And the knife severs one of the flowers, causing the rest to hiss - almost like a squeal! TSD66 is \Distracted for a Moment* as the flowers retreat into themselves for the time being. (I'm going to self compel Tangent Does Not Compute to have that also skip his turn. I'm up to 2 now.)
GM: > EXCHANGE #6
Madelena: (...Oh god, that will be fun.)
Madelena: Madelene quickly dishes out another slew of knives, perhaps in reaction to the fact those plants hissed at her.
GM: TSD66 glances up just in time to react this time! (Roll it (assuming you're done describing it)!)
Madelena: !f 4 (Quick, Stunt, Panic)
DiscoDude: <@Madelena> rolled 4dF+4 for 4 [4dF = [-][+][ ][ ]]
Madelena: (PANIC)
GM: !f 2 (QUICK)
DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4dF+2 for 2 [4dF = [ ][+][ ][-]]
GM: (Spending one of my two Fate points on TSD66's High Concept; Seeker Class Security Bot. That's tie.)
Madelena: (Ah... tie.)
GM: (There is *Distracted for a Moment*, if you want to use that; it's going away real soon.)
Madelena: (Nevermind! using THAT)
GM: (And then I'll use my other Fate point on Vertiginous Angle; the weird orientation of the ship's layout should throw you off just enough to not win outright. With that, I'm officially tapped out. Describe your tie!)
Madelena: Agh, Throwing knifes here is Difficult! Madelena Is definitely confused and shaken, both from the perspective she is fighting with and the thing she is fighting against. However, after so long of a fight, *She's got this guy figured out*
GM: TSD66 barely manages to deflect that last flurry of knives! They find a break in the attack and, without even pausing for deliberation, manages to grab a few knives and throw them back!
GM: !f 2 (QUICK)
DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4dF+2 for 0 [4dF = [-][+][-][-]]
Madelena: USING HER OWN WEAPONS AGAINST HER?! THE AUDACITY! Madelene tries to jump to another compartment, hopefully one with more cover!
Madelena: !f 2 (QUICK)
DiscoDude: <@Madelena> rolled 4dF+2 for 2 [4dF = [-][ ][+][ ]]
GM: (Describe it!)
GM: (Save the counterattack for after the Exchange breaker, though. XD)
Madelena: Finally she finds a block like object and uses that as cover, it slowly deflates after the knives hit it though, so it won't be useful as cover anymore...
GM: > EXCHANGE #7
Madelena: Madelena finally throws her last slew of knives, this ones specifically aimed at its weakest spots, plus a few extra just for good measure, she even screams something. "AND ENOUGH OF WITH YOU!!"
Madelena: !f 4 (QUICK)
DiscoDude: <@Madelena> rolled 4dF+4 for 5 [4dF = [-][+][ ][+]]
GM: !f 2 (QUICK)
DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4dF+2 for -1 [4dF = [ ][-][-][-]]
GM: (OOF)
Madelena: (...the boost makes that +7...8 degrees of stress, how many consequences do you have?)
Madelena: (XD)
GM: (I just had the [1] box remaining. XD)
GM: *thunk - thunk-thunk-thunk! bzzap!
Around four knives hit their mark; two of them directly in its head! The glass LED visor cracks where the pair hits, and sparks fly as TSD66 shudders.
<"Critical damage received... It is imperative that what the new Life saw does not leave this place. Solution... Initiate... remote launch... Bypass code... 11037...">
The whole shuttle shakes as something ignites.
<"Task accomplished... Warning: Critical damage must... be seen to... Entering diagnostics mode... Good night.">
And then TSD66 seizes up.
GM: A few moments pass as thrusters continue to warm up...
GM: And TSD66 keels over with a clang, stiff as a board.
GM: - CHALLENGE END: SUCCESS -
Madelena: "T-TAKE THAT!" She says...Before she notices that the vessel was activated! "Wait, WAIT WAIT WAIT I DIDN'T EVEN DISPOSE OF THIS- DAMNIIIT" The Tiger panicked as she began climbing to one of the seats, the rumors apparently said that the top one was the best one, after all. From then it's only getting the seatbelt set and sitting tight....and looking out from the window, the ground slowly distancing itself from her trip to heaven...
GM: That's assuming you're coherent enough to notice; the rumbling of the ship firing up is nothing compared to the bowel-shaking Armageddon that is the actual launch! You're in danger of passing out from the G-force alone when the shuttle is going at its fastest!
Madelena: She might actually pass out at this rate...maybe she should take a nap and wait for the gods' messengers to awake her? The rumors did say that the earth would break in two after the vessel began moving but....this far is out of her league...
GM: Yet, it's only for a few brief moments. Within a few seconds, the edge of the atmosphere is reached, and there's nothing but... stars in the viewport, and a feeling of weightlessness in the cabin.
Madelena: Madelena saw through the viewport as a weight was released off her entire body, stars...glinting lights that she could only barely see in the blackness of the world...so this was the god's world?
GM: An unrecognizable message plays out over the intercom, and a feeling of weight lurches back into being; except instead of "down" in relation to the ship's verticality, this new gravity is "forward." The chair you had to climb onto like a stone outcropping before now feels upright. There's a racket back in the compartments; you can't see it, but TSD66 just got acquainted with the floor. Again.
Madelena: And the tiger lets out a cry as she feels the seat again...just differently this time...She pays no attention to the seemingly dead robot, instead, she looks at the console in front of her... and her attention goes back the the viewport, she wonders how long it will take to get to forges proper...
GM: Quite a while, it seems. Hours pass. Hours turn into days turn into weeks. You were able to find food stores... of a sort. You would hesitate to call it food; it's more like flavored goop. Eventually, even those run out, and you go hungry for a few days as the ship floats aimlessly in orbit. Just as you begin to wonder about resorting to those flowers growing out of the metal man for food (because of course they're still alive), there's a beeping noise in the direction of the cockpit.
Madelena: The tiger crawls her way towards cockpit, of course she gave a look to the flowers, but the memory of the reaction they gave her back home still was vaguely burned into her mind... She looks at the cockpit, wondering if she should be happy or apathetic about it.
GM: Between beeps, an alert message of some kind sounds, and on a projected 3D radar, you can see a white dot blipping closer and closer until it's almost on top of you.
GM: But instead of an impact, the dot just hovers in position for a bit. It's then that you notice that a lot of the usual stars have been blocked out, replaced with a new set; sparser, much more patterned, and some are blinking.
Madelena: "Huh..?" She approaches the viewport again, she knew something had changed, something caught her vessel? ...WAIT, SOMETHING NOTICED HER?! She was now sticking to every viewport, trying to find something anything that resembled one of the so fabled gods...which could be a myriad of things! legends were never concise after all.
GM: The near-darkness is broken when a crack of light appears down the center! It expands like an opening door as your vessel appears to be drawn upward into its embrace! You're nearly blinded as the interior envelopes you. When the bay doors close behind you, there's the hiss of atmospheric pressurization in the chamber around the shuttle.
Madelena: She feels a bit dizzy for a moment, but the sensation passes, moreover was the fact that she might, have, JUST, GOTTEN, TO, HEAVEN! After so much waiting...and being hungry! She might skip the forges to go a great banquet once she gets to step out of this boat!
GM: A small car drives up to the side of the horizontal ship, and a platform rises out of it. Madelena, you hear some beeps and angry buzzers coming from the direction of one of those dead-end window closets.
Madelena: In a split second she is already banging on the door, making sounds and trying to speak to whoever might be in the other side: "Hello?! ANYBODY?!? ANGELS OH GODS PLEASE JUST TAKE ME TO THE BANQUETS, I STARVED FOR A WEEK IN THAT BOAT!!"
GM: You seem to startle the people on the other side of the window: A hairless monkey guy in khakis, two lizards in advanced-looking armor and wielding more of those scary guns, and a fish lady and a gerbil guy, both in lab coats.
Madelena: "YESS, ACTUAL SPIRIT PEOPLE!" She kneeled on the ground...Crying? She was tearing up after being locked in there for so long. "I Don't recognize half of you guys species...bu-but that's fine! DO YOU KNOW WHERE THE NEAREST BANQUET IN HONOR OF ME JOINING THE COURT IS?!" And the Gerbil guy would have a Tiger-esque girl in ultimately obsolete garments babbling in some unknown language with a pretty sad tone.
GM: There's some gibbering deliberation amongst the group, but in the meantime, with a little more fiddling, the (apparent) airlock slowly grinds open with a *beedle-dee-beep! You are ushered out first, and a drone the lab coat gerbil called comes bearing a blanket and a cup of hot synth-cocoa for you. It looks completely different from the ones patrolling around the city before; these ones have physical rotary motors, for one. The hairless monkey leads all but him and one of the lizard guards into the ship, and sounds that could be interpreted as squealing seem to come from (you think) the mermaid-with-legs lady as the group comes across what remains of TSD66. The hairless monkey warns her back, pointing to the flowers as he does.
Madelena: She obviously takes the cup of cocoa as an appetizer...and burns her lips when she tries to gulp it down in one go, making her resort to taking the smallest amounts... "Gods...Gods...The stupid stuff I had to do to get here..." Still tearing up... she wonders what the other bunch of weirdos went into the vessel for...oh, right, she left the body of the robot there, wonder why it didn't rot during all that time...
GM: And here they come, with Mr. Khakis and the lizard guard carrying a stretcher with the body on it; they were careful to wrap the section covering the torso in a smothering tarp. The lab coat fish woman is following along, with a device that's... that's plugged into the body's cracked open face by a pair of wires. There isn't any gore inside, just panels and wires and nodes.
Madelena: ...Eh, Ehhh?! Madelene tried to get up to see what they were gonna do with the body as she took another sip of the cup of chocolate. "What did you do to that corpse? You aren't gonna open 'im up with that nasty flower there, right?!"
GM: The group as a whole seems to ignore you for the time being as the platform lowers into the car. The screen the fish lady is using shifts to a panning view of a ruined city - the one you were making your way through. Making your way through currently, it seems; the camera is chasing your retreating form for a few blocks, then it loses you. The feed shifts to a view of the boarding bridge, which quickly snaps toward you running towards the space center. The car takes off from the ship, in the meantime.
Madelena: "Hey...That's where I Was...! So this guy could see through those dolls?!" She doesn't take it very well to being ignored, though. "Heey....Can any of you understand me..?! W-wait...I shouldn't have skipped those religion lessons back when i was a child, should i?! W-what if this guy is like, an angel messenger?! wouldn't that make me eligible to not go to heaven?!?!?" Ah, she keeps on mulling under her breath over her possible heretic action...
GM: And she'll have to continue wondering as the car leaves the shuttle bay, the gibberish discourse between the other beings and her own stammering questions continuing all the while as the curtain falls on her first real adventure!
GM: (Lame finisher, I know, but I wasn't sure how else to end it without hours of expository dialogue. Last line? XD)
Madelena: "Gah....I suppose I'll have to play pretend I did nothing wrong...They won't get too angry at me since I did get him back here...right, right??" She however, looked back at the Vessel...she couldn't but feel she opened a jar of slimes that was bigger on the inside than on the outside... Oh, the door closed before she could get through it!
GM: (With that, let us...)
