  1. If you stop paying the fee for a cloud storage service, what happens to your data depends on the provider's policies. Generally, here's what you can expect:
  2.
  3. 1. Google Drive (Google One):
  4. - If you cancel your Google One subscription or your payment fails, you will retain access to your data, but you won't be able to upload new files or create backups until you free up space or resubscribe. Google might eventually delete data if you remain over quota for an extended period.
  5.
  6. 2. Microsoft OneDrive:
  7. - If you stop paying for OneDrive, your account will be considered over the storage limit. You will still be able to access and download your files, but you won't be able to upload new files or sync data until you reduce the amount of storage you're using or resubscribe. After a period of inactivity or non-payment, Microsoft may delete your data.
  8.
  9. 3. Apple iCloud:
  10. - If you downgrade your iCloud storage plan or stop paying for it, Apple will not delete your data immediately. However, you won't be able to upload new files or create backups if you exceed the free storage limit. Apple will give you a grace period to reduce your storage usage, after which they may start deleting data if you remain over the limit.
  11.
  12. 4. Dropbox:
  13. - If you stop paying for a Dropbox Plus or Professional plan, your account will revert to the Basic plan with its 2 GB storage limit. You will still have access to your files, but you won't be able to upload new files if you exceed the free storage limit. Dropbox typically doesn't delete your data but will limit functionality until you reduce storage usage or resubscribe.
  14.
  15. 5. Mega:
  16. - If you downgrade or stop paying for Mega's storage plans, your account will revert to the free storage limit (20 GB). You will still have access to your existing data, but you won't be able to upload new files or make changes if you're over the limit. Mega generally won't delete your data immediately, but functionality will be limited.
  17.
  18. In all cases, it's important to ensure you have alternative backups of your important data before canceling a paid storage plan, just to be safe.
