- I'm easily entertained. Hell, there's a scene towards the beginning that had me in stitches when Dean asks Wes, "Do you smoke?" literally seconds after walking out of a bar where Wes was smoking in front of him. Granted, it was a cigarette, and I get Dean meant pot, but the point is my f*cking reptilian brain processed that as the most humorous thing in the movie. That being said, it should be extremely telling that even being a generic racing film, it barely held my interest.
- Also, that reminds me, the opening shot is Wes (K.J. Apa) leaning over with his shoulders popping out, and for more than a split second, I legitimately thought it was someone aiming their ass high in the air. I've never seen shoulders so bulbous before. Honestly, Apa's physique needs to be studied in this film. Normally, I think K.J. Apa looks like Walt Jr., but here, he looks like Terminator Salvation Christian Bale with the body prep of The Fighter Christian Bale... but somehow has a six-pack? No body shaming— I'm a fat ass myself and would give anything to look like that— I just found it to be an interesting contradiction.
- P.S. Speaking of generic, the song played in the credits gives off big "license this royalty free" with MusicBed, Artlist, or Soundstripe vibes. Still catchy, though, so I'll give it that.
