- WINDS...South to southeast 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
- RELATIVE HUMIDITY...20 to 40 percent, lowest near the Rio Grande.
- IMPACTS...Any wildfires ignited may spread rapidly and unpredictably. Prevention of fire starts by avoiding planned burning, or by limiting activities prone to produce sparks. Take care to stop the start and spread of wildfires.

- A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

- ...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS CONTINUE THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON...
- Low relative humidities and gusty winds are expected again this afternoon. Minimum RH values in the low 20s to mid 30s are expected along and west of of I-35 and I-37 and in the mid to upper 30s farther east along the U.S. 77 corridor. South to southeast winds will increase to 15 to 20 mph with gusts between 20 and 30 mph this afternoon and early evening.
- Despite not strictly meeting criteria, this combination of dry air and moderate winds will lead to near critical to critical fire weather conditions and with ongoing fires in the area the decision was made to issue another Red Flag Warning from 10am-8pm today. Fuels remain unusually dry, and this is leading to an active season of wildfires that are difficult to contain. Any outdoor activity that could lead to the development of sparks and resulting wildfire potential is highly discouraged!
