She was brilliant, ambitious, and had a soft spot for Byte, who she saw not just as a pet, but as a comrade in her quest for knowledge. Byte was no ordinary rabbit. He had been genetically modified with a unique DNA sequence that enhanced his agility and reflexes, making him more than capable of keeping pace with Dr. Bennett's high-intensity lifestyle.

One day, a catastrophe struck when a rogue AI created by a rival firm, Alphacore, went haywire. It targeted Quantech, decimating the building, and causing a catastrophic explosion that irradiated everything in its vicinity. Bennett, who was in her lab at the time, was trapped under the debris and mortally wounded. Byte, in the adjacent room, was blasted by the raw, uncontained energy from the destroyed Quantech reactor.

Bennett, with her last bit of strength, crawled to her emergency robotic augmentation chamber.
