DiscoDude: Session logging commenced
Ryusui|GM: The scene: the auction house. <@!Zeta>, you and Jocelyn arrived a couple of minutes ago to discover Xia cowering in his seat while the Auctioneer revealed himself as a minion of Cthulhu - him, and it's pretty strongly implied Cthulhu's got his hooks in the guards and the other three bidders as well.
Ryusui|GM: He made some ominous pronouncements suggesting Casper was one of his allies as well, right before he showed up...and put the lie to that idea by throwing the curry (not the curry!) right at him as part of a gambit to set up whatever counterattack he has in mind next.
Ryusui|GM: You, Zeta, ordered Jocelyn to exit, and she ran screaming into the night...
Ryusui|GM: ...and that's where we are, folks. The bag is in midair, flying towards the auctioneer, who seems surprised enough by the maneuver he isn't even trying to dodge it. Casper, your distraction is gonna give you a bonus at my discretion depending on what you decide to do next.
Casper: Casper uses that moment of distraction to clamor up the excessively decorated wall up into the [Rafters] and fully lose his opponents there!

Ryusui|GM: (welp, your bonus in this case was "unopposed, i.e. vs. +0" so)
Ryusui|GM: The bag explodes in the auctioneer's face, scattering food everywhere. A bit of curry lands on the idol, Zeta, and you could swear it sizzles. At first, the auctioneer doesn't react. After a few seconds, though, he starts laughing at you feeble mortal effort to subdue him...and then he wipes the curry from his face, and realizes you're gone, <@!Casper>. That stops the laughing in a hurry.
Casper: (Will you name the aspect, or should I?)
Ryusui|GM: (So, I'm just gonna houserule a little something, because the distraction plan was that much fun: you are presently, effectively, in an adjacent zone, the [Rafters], with a boost called -Didn't See You Coming!-)
Ryusui|GM: (That is, you have an ongoing +2 from your Stunt as long as you're up there)
Ryusui|GM: (and your next attack will have a +2 from the element of surprise)
Ryusui|GM: (is this okay with you?)
Ryusui|GM: (or...fuck)
Ryusui|GM: (i could just say that you being [In the Rafters] is an aspect with a free [!] invoke)
Casper: (Yeah. Even still, I need to know whether you plan to name the aspect I just created.)
Ryusui|GM: (which would you prefer?)
Ryusui|GM: (the fudgy houserule-y thing, or the aspect with the free invoke like normal?)
Ryusui|GM: (it's silly i did that because i could totally have given you the latter XD)
Casper: (The latter. Wait, do I get both?)
Ryusui|GM: (i'm just gonna handwave it and say "you being in the rafters is an aspect, not a proper zone, but it still counts for your stunt")
Casper: (Okay? Is that from my Create an Advantage aspect though? I'm confused.)
Ryusui|GM: (yes)
Ryusui|GM: (we're going to treat your CaA success like normal, except i'm also giving you the bonus from your stunt)
Casper: (Got it. Note that I get a second free invoke from my Ghost stunt.)
Ryusui|GM: (hmm. with that in mind maybe i'll revoke the "out of your zone" thing)
Ryusui|GM: (since you're getting an extra bonus anyway)
Casper: (Am I in a separate zone or not? I did have a move action, keep in mind, and the amount of distance I'm putting without it being another zone is starting to get ridiculous.)
Ryusui|GM: (right, okay, so let's say you did both then)
Ryusui|GM: (you are both out of the zone, and you have a concealment aspect with a free invoke)
Ryusui|GM: ([Rafters] is a zone, [In the Rafters] is the aspect with a free invoke)
Ryusui|GM: (does that work?)
Casper: (Two free invokes; my second stunt is pretty clear.)
Ryusui|GM: (yes, sorry, wasn't trying to cheat you)
Ryusui|GM: (we good now?)
Ryusui|GM: (righto so)
Ryusui|GM: The Auctioneer's face turns from a smug smile to a scowl as he realizes that Casper is gone. His scowl turns to face you, <@!Zeta>.
Ryusui|GM: (It's your move!)
Zeta: Zeta makes eye contact with the "Auctioneer" for a single second. A second is enough to garner her intentions. She didn't want to risk another to figure what theirs' were.

She looks toward's Xia's general direction, As she gathers all her air to scream from the top of her lungs. "YOU HAVE TO LEAVE MISTER, LEAVE!!!"
Casper: (So does that just take her action, or should Zeta roll to Overcome or something?)
Ryusui|GM: (...you know what, since she has to use her action to do it anyway, I'm just going to give it to her)
Casper: (Police come in next Exchange?)
Ryusui|GM: (...shit, that's right, Jocelyn should've been the tip-off)
Zeta: (This just kicks things into even higher gear)
Ryusui|GM: Xia locks eyes with you, Zeta. You can't tell what exactly he sees, but whatever it is, the fearful look on his face deepens to one of soul-rending terror. He practically leaps out of his seat and runs screaming out the door.
Ryusui|GM: As the sound of commotion builds outside, Zeta, you can sense eldritch bloodlust shrieking in your direction.
Ryusui|GM: !f 3 (Fight)

Ryusui|GM: (can you dodge, or tank it?)
Zeta: (..wait, I have Decieve! Can I try to confuse him?)
Zeta: (or, y'know, be a bit of an Elusive target?)
Casper: (Think that's a moot point at this range...)
Ryusui|GM: (okay, you know what? he's trying to blindside you while your attention is on Xia and the commotion outside)
Ryusui|GM: (you can defend with Notice)
Zeta: (That's..a +1, I take that.)

Ryusui|GM: You look around in time to see a squamous tendril lunging at your face. It's not enough time to dodge it.
Zeta: Zeta couldn't have possibly noticed the enemy on her 6 until it was too late, she heard the sound but a few milliseconds too late as whoever was still paralyzed by fear would be witness to what being hit by an eldritch, unspeakable being looks like
Ryusui|GM: Xia's not looking as he runs off, and a good thing, too. Because he'd swear you were dead.
Ryusui|GM: You're lying on the ground, your neck twisted all the way around, your limbs bent at odd angles like they're broken.
Ryusui|GM: You're still very much alive, but the shock of the impact - and the proximity to a pawn of Cthulhu himself - seems to have temporarily hampered your body's ability to remember what it should look like.
Ryusui|GM: It's a good thing you're probably going to need a sec to regain your equilibrium and get back on your feet, or whatever suffices for your feet right now, because this is right when the cavalry(?) arrives - six local cops barge in, in full "Wot's all this, then?" mode, brandishing nightsticks which, frankly, are probably less than ideal for facing down an eldritch nightmare.
Ryusui|GM: (anyway call your Moderate [Broken Body, Broken Disguise])
Ryusui|GM: (these dudes are going to get a move before Casper does)
Zeta: "A-a....ag...h..." Is the only sliver of voice that comes out of Zeta's mouth through the pain....ah...she is all messed up....her limbs definitely weren't meant to be stretched like that...not even by ferret standards... "...w-why..." why is she...seeing her tail from this angle...
"...d-did...you..."
...wait...wasn't there...another form she could have? Right, she was a...monster... after all....why would a monster let itself be mangled like this?
"Do that?"
Ryusui|GM: (careful, remember, the cops are right there)
Zeta: (The cops have a 1 in 7 of shooting her, she'll be fineeeee)
Zeta slowly gets up, in four...what's wrong with her mouth? It's getting bigger.
Zeta: too big...
It's stretching to her stomach now...
Zeta: wait, why are there tentacles everywhere...?!
Ryusui|GM: "Good heavens."
Ryusui|GM: The auctioneer tries his damnedest to look innocent. "Help me! This creature barged in and attacked without provocation!" None of the officers miss the eldritch tentacle slinking behind his back.
Ryusui|GM: One of the officers steps forward, clearly in charge. He nods to one of his men: "You and me're on the suspicious chap in the back. The rest of you, restrain that...thing!"
Casper: (Do they not notice any of the other monsters?)
Ryusui|GM: (only the auctioneer is in monster mode rn!)
Casper: (... Does that mean the others have reduced stats?)
Ryusui|GM: (they're just dormant; if you provoke them they'll go full monster)
Zeta: "...police...are...useless..." Ah, her legs are...back in a logical position, the tentacles are also helping her support herself...Zeta Points one of her hands at the auctioneer that just hit her across the room. "You...you'll go first."
Ryusui|GM: (okay, cops get their move, hang on)
Ryusui|GM: As ordered, four of the cops try to restrain you. "Come quietly, now," one of them says, a little nervously as he attempts to handcuff your tentacles.
Ryusui|GM: (i realize i didn't give any of them a stat in "handcuffing" so whoop)
Ryusui|GM: !f 0 (handcuffing)

Casper: (Shit, guess that's a bad ripple for us.)

Zeta: ...the tentacle, literally just slips off the cuffs.
Zeta: Zeta, or should we say, the monster that was once Zeta pays no mind to the metal, and instead starts slithering towards the auctioneer.
Casper: (I'd think it'd be my turn next.)
Ryusui|GM: (right, just gimme one sec)
Ryusui|GM: Likewise, the auctioneer has no interest in just letting himself get arrested, even for show. The same tentacle he was trying to hide whips savagely around, knocking the policemen back.
Ryusui|GM: <@!Casper>!
Casper: (So does that cause two boosts to appear from the SWS's, or do they cancel each other out?)
Ryusui|GM: (let's say each of you get a boost)
Ryusui|GM: (let's call it something like -Tentacular Awakening- XD)
Casper: Casper rolls his eyes at the police's effort and takes aim at the Auctioneer with his now fully assembled rifle. Steady breath... and pull the trigger.
Casper: !f 6 (SHOOT, Death at 1000 Paces)

Casper: (Also, uh... Never mind, guess it was my fault for not mentioning a silencer.)
Casper: (GM?)
Ryusui|GM: (i'm going to hold onto my boost and FP for now)
Ryusui|GM: (also let's just say it's a much quieter blam augmented by the enclosed space XD)
Zeta: (why are you talking about me all of a sudden?)
Casper: (May I use one of my boosts on In the Rafters, then? I'll also be taking the -1 damage reduction in exchange for a boost, as per SWS attack rules.)
Casper: (<@!Ryusui|GM>?)
Ryusui|GM: (yes)
Ryusui|GM: (so, total, 4 shifts and a boost, right?)
Casper: (Yep.)
Casper: (Would you cry foul if I asked for the boost to just be putting a free invoke right back onto the aspect I just invoked?)
Ryusui|GM: (ha ha. whatever works XD)
Ryusui|GM: Against a mortal, that would unquestionably be a killshot. As it stands, you've blown his skull wide open and left his body blown outwards like a banana peel, revealing things pulsating inside him.
Ryusui|GM: Stress: [X][X][1] Consequences: Mild [Eldritch Organs Exposed]
Ryusui|GM: "Impressive," he says, with surprising elocution for a thing whose vocal cords are in two separate pieces at least a foot apart. "Now, where...did that come from..." His physical eyes aren't pointed in your direction, Casper, but as he slowly zips back together, you get the sensation he's scanning the rafters for you.
Ryusui|GM: (i'll just give you the boost -Still Hidden!-)
Ryusui|GM: <@!Zeta>!
Casper: (Punt him, Zeta!)
Zeta: Zeta has now picked up speed in an unnatural way, she is in a collision course towards the auctioneer. "...close...punch...!"
Zeta: !f 4

Ryusui|GM: (between that and your boost...there's nothing he can do, even with his boost, to stop you XD)
Ryusui|GM: (flavor the takedown, Zeta!)
Casper: (But her boost is currently unspent, for the record. XD)
Zeta: In a split second her mass collides with his as the sound of meat popping can be heard...and the auctioneer is shot off the ground like a prop towards a wall.
Ryusui|GM: By this point there's more eldritch goop than recognizable features. He splatters against the far wall, and stops moving.
Ryusui|GM: You're close enough to grab the statue now.
Ryusui|GM: Or you would be.
Ryusui|GM: But the two guards, who'd been standing attention this whole time, suddenly rise up an extra two feet, sprouting tentacles from their backs, their jaws distending much like yours, Zeta.
Ryusui|GM: (side note: positive ripple for the kill!)
Casper: (Right!)
Ryusui|GM: "You're an interesting specimen." The auctioneer's voice still rings out, from somewhere between the two guards. "Maybe I should dissect you and see what makes you tick."
Ryusui|GM: !f 3 (Fight)

Casper: (For the record, did the Auctioneer's boost disappear with his initial body? Please say yes.)

Ryusui|GM: (actually i spent it, but i presumed Zeta spent hers as well)
Casper: (Ah.)
Ryusui|GM: (anyways Zeta you need to defend)
Ryusui|GM: (while i wait)
Ryusui|GM: "As for the rabble..."
Ryusui|GM: The two cops who tried to arrest the auctioneer are still flat on their backs; the other four are unwisely still approaching, trying to follow orders. The second guard intends to make them regret that decision.
Ryusui|GM: !f 3 (Fight)

Casper: (No, Ryusui rolled Attack and Defense between the other guard and the police.)
Zeta: (oh. Yeah i'll boost it because boy oh boy am i not being smacked like that again.)
Ryusui|GM: (are you gonna invoke something to reroll, or just +2 and reduce it to 2 shifts?)
Ryusui|GM: While one of the guards is trying to tear you limb from limb, the other sends a spray of tentacles lashing through the air. A symphony of sickening cracks follows as three of the cops are suddenly and forcefully disabled: in seconds, the last remaining cop is left staring at three bodies left with their legs and necks bent at terrifyingly wrong angles.
Casper: (<@!Zeta>? Also, what are you invoking? (Please not the corruption aspect, we are one ripple away from a negative cascade.))
Zeta: (..can i go back to my 'ol strategy of relying on HCs a bit too much?)
Casper: (Does... Reluctant Time-Traveling Occultist help somehow?)
Ryusui|GM: (you can invoke your Eldritch aspect, like, maybe slink out of the way or something)
Ryusui|GM: (at the same breath, you can add a +2, or you can reroll; which do you choose?)
Zeta: (A +2 makes it a tie which i think is good for me? does invoking the eldritch aspect bring about the resonance cascade?)
Casper: (No, they rolled a 6. +2 means you only take 2 shifts.)
Ryusui|GM: (yeah, they rolled 6, you rolled 2, so there's 4 shifts rn)
Ryusui|GM: (you can either take a +2, which means you'll only take 2)
Ryusui|GM: (reroll, which might be better or it might be worse)
Ryusui|GM: (or just tank the hit)
Zeta: (...I can use another consequence for that, I suppose.)
Ryusui|GM: (so you're going to just tank it?)
Zeta: (I mean i can try rerolling but even that scares me, and i want to keep my physical track as pristine as possible since zeta is not a tank)
Casper: (Uh... If that track is interchangeable with Consequences in terms of overflow in this module, they're the buffer before you have to start taking consequences.)
Ryusui|GM: (okay, how are you going to take those four shifts)
Casper: (You've got your stress-taking priorities backwards, I think.)
Zeta: (4? But wasn't it 2...?)
Ryusui|GM: (no)
Casper: (<@!Ryusui|GM>, is it safe to say that this session is closed down for tonight?)
Ryusui|GM: (yeah)
