Language

Rule 1.1: Discrimination
Any discrimination toward a minority faction, religion, or group of individuals is NOT tolerated in any forms. This includes, but is not limited to racism toward a skin colour, racism toward a religion. This applies to all jokes and sayings regardless of the comedic value. If you believe that you are being discriminated against, contact one of the Ops immediately. No form of discrimination is tolerated.

Rule 1.2: English Only
The native language of #RSBot is ENGLISH only. Granted, you may wish to use phrases and sayings from other languages, you may also wish to help somebody who needs issues with other languages. What is not welcome is discussion between two parties in non-English, and joining the channel and speaking a non-English language without speaking English explaining your actions.
What is tolerated is brief discussions between two individuals when the channel is quiet. Mild-Profanities in your native language are tolerated. Also, 'chat/txt speak' will be only tolerated in moderation, as well as minor non-excessive slang words.

Rule 1.3.1: Profanity
The use of self proclaimed 'curses' are tolerated to the extent of the Operator in question. If he/she believes you are using too much profanities, then he/she will punish you, so it will be advisable not to use them excessively.
What will be tolerated is the use of a profanity occasional if you use them in applicable context. What wont be tolerated is the use of a profanity excessively or incorrectly, for example if you use a profanity for the sake of it, or use to where as it is directed to another user.

Rule 1.3.2: Vulgarism
The use of vulgarism will be tolerated to the extent of the Operator in question. If he/she believes that what you say is too vulgar, or is disgusted by what you say then he/she will punish you.
What will be tolerated is vulgar which will not offend anybody or break any of the other listed rules.
What wont be tolerated is up the the Operators judgement.

Rule 1.4: Chat Filter
The chat filter is set for a reason, one should not try to bypass the filter, this includes but is not limited to, botserv's badword(s) list. An attempt to evade such filter will result in punishment by an Operator.


User Interaction

Rule 2.1: Spam/Flood
Usually you will trigger scripts if you flood the channel, and there will be no user interaction. If you think you were banned by a script when you shouldn't, contact an Operator.
In regards to spam, the word spam means, stupid, pointless and, annoying messages. Spam DOES NOT mean lots of messages sent at the same time, thats flooding. Spam is pointless content which annoys other users. This includes but is not limited to; repeatedly saying any message without a need to repeat it, trying to get somebody do something and pestering them about it, and asking for help without waiting for an answer.

Rule 2.2: Respect
You must show the up most respect to other users of the channel, especially channel Operators. You must not mock or insult another user, regardless of if they insult you first.

Rule 2.3: Sexism
The gender of a user doesn't matter in regards to channel use. Harassing a user due to a particular gender will not be tolerated. Whatever gender the claims to be, it is not a channel issue, and doesn't really matter. If the user tries to make this a channel issue, let an Operator deal with them.
Sexist comments are also covered by discrimination.


Decorum

Rule 3.1: Bad Subjects
The following subjects are not to be discussed in #RSBot for varied reasons.
-Religion
-Hacking
-Scamming
-Phishing
-RWT Of Any Kind

Rule 3.2: Links
The following types of links will NOT be tolerated.
Viral links (The kind of link you get a benefit from clicking)
Tasteless links (articles/images that will not be suitable for the majority of users).
Pornographic links.
Links depicting illegal acts.
Links which are meant to phish or scam other users
Links that you do not have permission to share (ie a script that is not yours)


IRC Issues

Rule 4.1: Exploitation
You MUST not try to exploit the users into doing things regardless of their intelligence, or gullibility. This includes and is not limited to, attempting a DCC hack, causing users to disconnect, getting a user to type /quit, or advising them to press ALT + F4.

Rule 4.2: Evasion
You must not attempt to use multiple connections to evade bans set upon you, if you do this we will contact an IRCOP and let them deal with you which can lead to a network-wide ban.

Rule 4.3: Capital Letters
You must try to keep you cap usage as minimal as possible, again, whether its excessively used is down to the Ops discretion.
This includes caps in your nickname as well as alternating caps in sentences.
We will accept minor usage, if you're expressing something.

Rule 4.4: Advertising
You must not purposefully advertise your site/channel. Advertising your channel around IRC will result in network action by the IRCOPs, so please do not do it if you don't with to face a network-wide ban.
What we will allow is simple sharing of links (see rule 3.2)

Rule 4.5: Requesting Rank
Don't bother asking for any access in the channel, you will not receive it.


JAGEX

Rule 5.1: ToS
We do not abide by the JAGEX Terms Of Service, and we do not require you to do so. For a listing of JAGEX Rules please see: JAGEX Term of Service. Distributing a link to a piece of software which breaks the 3rd Party Software Rule is allowed as long as it is from powerbot.org. The official download link will always be found at http://links.powerbot.org/download
