Power of explosion

野田達が顔を低くすると、13ミリ機銃の弾丸がゴジラの口中の機雷めがけて撃ち込まれた。

As Noda and his friends lowered their heads, a bullet from a 13mm machine gun was fired into the mine in Godzilla’s mouth.

敷島がくるったように機銃を撃ち込み続けている。ゴジラが怒って飛びかかろうと構えたその瞬間、機銃弾の一つが奇跡的に理想的な角度で機雷に命中した。

Shikishima continues to fire machine guns like he’s spinning around. At the moment Godzilla was angry and prepared to pounce, one of the machine bullets miraculously hit the mine at an ideal angle.

大爆発。

A big explosion.

新生丸はその船尾を爆発に破壊されながら、空中に一瞬持ち上がった。そしてそのまま海面に叩きつけられた。

The Shinsei Maru was momentarily lifted into the air, its stern being destroyed by the explosion. And then it crashed into the sea.

その上から大量の水が滝のように降り注いだ。

A large amount of water poured down like a waterfall from above.

息もない水の降下の中で敷島はのたうち回っていた。破壊された船尾の一部が頭に直撃し、大きな裂傷を作っていた。

Shikishima was writhing in the breathless water falling. Part of the destroyed stern had hit him in the head, causing a large gash.

水島も左腕に破片を受け、骨折していた。新生丸も後部をすっかり失って、そこかの猛烈な浸水が始まっていた。

Mizushima was also hit by shrapnel in his left arm, causing a fracture. Shinsei Maru also completely lost her rear end, and heavy flooding began in that area.

どんどん沈んでいく新生丸にしがみつく格好で、皆が水煙の中からゴジラが現れるのを待った。

Everyone waited for Godzilla to emerge from the plume of water, clinging to the Shinsei Maru as it continued to sink.
