- Merry Christmas 2021
- Dec 25, 1775
- Then Gen GW attacked a Hessian garrison in Trenton during the Rev-ary War. That became known as the Battle of Trenton. A Nor-easter blew in, the rev-ary army marched in 8 hours of rain, sleet, snow. No one would have expected an attack in such weather on such a night as this. However a H messenger caught wind of Washingtons whereabouts and wrote ahead to Trenton a letter that he hand delivered to his commanding officer. The commanding officer took the note and placed it unread into his coat pocket. After all no one would have expected such an attack in such weather on such a night as Christmas.
- Well W attacked, the Hessians surrendered, the commander died. Found in his pocket the next morning was the unopened letter warning him of Washington's coming assault. Glory could have been his, he had the letter in his hands, we could all be having tea and crumpets right now. There would have been no $1 bill. But he failed to read the message, he failed to expect what should have been expected. A message in 1 ear and out the other. We experience defeat when we should be experiencing victory all because we fail to read the message.
