Alice- Disintegrate

I could feel the magic tingling in the air, which shimmered, making the door appear to distort. Seconds later I knew that it was not an illusion. It seemed that the only way to force the door open was to destroy it. Remembering how both Hrothgar and Tilda had opened it, and then been trapped when it shut behind them, it was obvious too that this was the best course of action. Suddenly it twisted, bulged and then – with a loud whoosh – exploded outwards into hundreds of fragments which then became small particles of wood and pieces of metal which fell at the feet of Alice. The door had been reduced to a heap of dust.
