Gusir's Gifts

Grim went with them down to the ship to see them on their way.
'There's some treasures here I'd like you to have, kinsman Odd,'
said Grim, 'three arrows called Gusir's Gifts,' and he gave him the
arrows. Odd looked at them. 'Precious gifts, these,' he said. They
were feathered with gold and flew of their own accord from the
bowstring and back again, so there was never any need to search for
them.

'Ketil Trout took these arrows off Gusir, king of the Lapps,' said
Grim. 'Because dwarfs made them, they bite anything they're told
to.'

'I've never in my life received a gift to compare with these,' said
Odd. He thanked his father for them and they parted the best of
friends. Odd stepped aboard and said they should start their travels
away from the island, so they unfurled sails first on Odd's ship and
then on the other.
