  1. Dakdwade threw his smart disc. Ak'kili quickly threw hers to intercept it. Her throw was too hasty so the trajectory was off. Instead of knocking Dakdwade's disc to the ground, it only knocked it off course, but that was enough.
  2.
  3. Ak'kili ran. She summoned her disc. It raced back to her. Ak'kili caught it and spun around. She held the disc vertically in front of her. The targeting on Dakdwade's disc corrected the trajectory but her strike had bought her enough time. Dakdwade's disc struck hers with enough force to make her take two large steps back. It spun and ground down the
  4. edge of hers but she held firm. Dakdwade's disc flew back to him.
  5.
  6. He had an older model that forced him to recall it in order to reset the target. Ak'kili threw her smart disc but didn't set a target for
  7. it. She ran across the empty expanse between them, her wristblades at the ready. Dakdwade started to move and then froze after one step. He couldn't move from that spotuntil his disc returned. She'd forced Dakdwade to choose between his weapon or avoiding her attacks.
  8.
  9. Dakdwade ran toward his smart disc and jumped high
  10. into the air. He snatched the disc out of the air, landing with a heavy thud. Ak'kili's disc sailed over his head and struck the stone where he stood moments before. She recalled her disc.
  11.
  12. Ak'kili clicked her mandibles in frustration. She had hoped he'd be frozen with indecision for a little longer than that. A few more seconds and she would have been in position to finish this quickly.-pg.179 chpt.7
