- warning: this is a rant.
- so, i get it, windows is a popular os...heck, even i use it! and im the one writing this! but i think its becoming more of a virus with each update.
- 1: spyware. windows collects a lot of your data and sends it to microsoft. if this isnt bad enough, it even has a builtin keylogger. things get worse in 11 than in 10, thanks to recall, which silently collects your data and records everything you do, even silently taking screenshots, sending it then over to ms and analysing them. just this alone puts win11 in spyware levels close to redstar os.
- 2: bitlocker. fulll disk encryption sounds great, right? nope. in fact, many viruses work that way.
- "BuT i CaN aCcEsS mY fIlEs!!!!"
- yes, heres the thing: it isnt a petya-like encryption where you lose your data, its an onehalf-like encryption where its decrypted as you access it, then encrypted again. and if your pc breaks...well, if you had bitlocker, you cant recover your data!
- plus, it doesnt protect. sure, someone wont be able to access it if your pc is stolen, but malware isnt affected, because the os encrypts and decrypts it on the fly before the virus loads. so happens with scammers. and if a scammer tricks you into downloading a virus and gets access to your pc, tadaaaaaaa! he has access to the recall history, so he can know EVERYTHING you did!
- plus, the sheer amount of bloatware is RIDICULOUS. why tf does the 70+ services need to have each a svchost instance? do you know how much ram that takes?????
- tldr: avoid win10 and 11. if you have any of them, delete system32. wait, no. delete the entire windows folder.
- then install anything else. like, idk, linux or bsd. or nixos. or dos, or whatever.
- windows 7 or xp. as long as if you install windows it isnt 10 or 11.
- or make your own os. your choice.
- (also avoid macos, its more of this same shit PLUS it wants to control you and not just spy on you)
