"Beaten"

The one thing she detested the most was getting beaten. Not just in one way, but in so many ways, that she has grown to detest the word with all her mind - and had made a resolution never to use that word out loud due to its filthiness. It was the one word she tried not to think about, the one word that keeps her tossing and turning at night, and the one word that was plastered all over her face like stamps in a postcard going somewhere on the other side of the world and glued with super glue.

Whenever she scrolled through pages of her photo albums, she would see that word in every picture her eye settles on, and it destroys her even more when the part where that word was placed was in another person's.
