DiscoDude: ---BEGIN SESSION---
DiscoDude: Session logging commenced
GM: Alright, so; Trello "Nearlight" Luna is about to head out on their first little intro Expedition. Due to the nature of this little solo endeavor, there's only one option for your choice of mission this time around:
GM: Expedition: Retrieve the Nostromo's Black-Box!
Aspects
Planet Concept: The Half-Functional Space Derelict Nostromo
Objective: A Black-Box, Locked Behind Tight Security
Obstacle: A Trap Set By An Old Enemy
Description
One week ago, Galactic Armaments Megalis lost contact with the command class ship Nostromo. They were able to track it down through its last known warp trajectory and some thorough scanning tech. However, it was discovered to have ended up in the middle of an asteroid belt, where it has since become structurally compromised. That's where the sponsored pilot "Nearlight" comes in. As someone who's able to navigate such densely packed regions, they're uniquely equipped to make a tactical insertion. The mission is to retrieve the Nostromo's black-box so GA Megalis can find out how it ended up out there. As radio contact has failed, it's unlikely that there are survivors. However, caution is advised regardless, as scans revealed that some of the ship's emergency systems are still operational.
Boons & Banes
1: Trello is trapped in a room with hostile security turrets.
2: A security chokepoint has lost power, requiring a manual override.
F: ???
GM: You've gotten a good look at this, right? Do you need me to explain how Boons & Banes work?
Trello: Yeah, that would be a good idea.
GM: (Editors note: Banes are in italics, Boons will be bold, Finale is both; they'll be red, green, and gold respectively instead in the logs.)
GM: Boons and Banes all represent the basis of a scene that might occur during the course of an Expedition. Once the final list is decided, we roll to see what comes up. Once half of the scenes these Boons & Banes represent (rounded up) are completed, the Finale is reached - the final scene and challenge before claiming the treasure or discovery at the end of an expedition (usually a confrontation with a formidable enemy, such as a Rival or a S.I.N. admin).
Trello: Oh, ok now I remember this, it is based of that one method of GMing. You have the players pool in possible encouters.
GM: Boons represent scenes with an optional challenge that can lead to obtaining an advantage for the expedition, such as "An old crypt hides a helpful password waiting to be decoded."
GM: While Banes are either mandatory obstacles or battles ("A wild animal attacks the party after they make camp."), or an event that leads to a later scene becoming harder that players can choose to try and stop ("Smugglers attempt to broke a deal with some off-world militia.").
GM: Since this is a fairly simple Expedition (one that could be classified as "Zero Stars," if one were to label difficulty like that), it starts out with only 2 Banes on the board - harder Expeditions will start out with more. If nothing is done, you will have to face exactly one Bane scene, and then the Finale.
GM: But here's where you come in: You can add a Boon to the list, as long as you add a Bane to counterbalance it. While this does increase the number of scenes you have to face by 1, you'll add a 50% to draw something beneficial instead of obstructive for one of them.
GM: (For the record, my version of Boons & Banes only allows up to one added pair per player. Allowing more is asking for Expeditions that seem to never end.)
GM: Got all that?
Trello: Yep, I get it.
GM: So, the immediate question is; will you add a pair for the chance at a Boon, but at the risk of facing 2 Banes, or leave it and face no more than 1 guaranteed Bane?
Trello: I think I'll add some.
GM: Boon or Bane first?
Trello: Bane: Coolant is leaking into primary atmospherics loop.
GM: ... Wait, is your species even affected by that?
GM: ... OH; cold, not suffocating.
Trello: Yes, the deal well with the void, but not the cold, if it progresses too far the outside of the ship will be safer then inside.
GM: (Isn't the vacuum of space supposed to be deadly cold even by human standards, or is it specifically moisture in air combined with cold that's the problem for Trello?)
Trello: Well, the short version is it is suprisingly hard to lose heat inspace. Without matter for convection or conduction to occur, the last choice is radiation, and that isn't very quick.
GM: Point conceded. Now; your Boon?
Trello: Hmm... something about the ships security room being accessable.
GM: Like a master passcode you can try to obtain?
Trello: The captains ID, yes.
Trello: Or something like that.
GM: An officer's ID card, left in the security room. perhaps?
Trello: Yeah.
GM: Alright, since you're the only player, we're done with the Boons & Banes step.
GM: Boons & Banes
1: Trello is trapped in a room with hostile security turrets.
2: A security chokepoint has lost power, requiring a manual override.
3: Coolant leaks into the primary atmospheric loop.
4: An officer's ID card, left in the security room.
F: ???
GM: With that, let us...
GM: - - BEGIN EXPEDITION - -
GM: Galactic date 3004.2.45: Kaiba belt, Yuremoto system. The GA-C Nostromo drifts among asteroids of various sizes, half derelict from the occasional collision. It's not alone in this lonely pocket of space, however; a little fighter-class ship weaves its way through the debris. The pilot's mission? To retrieve a black box from this command ship so GA Megalis can find out exactly what happened.
GM: (Would you like to describe your approach/breach?)
Trello: (Sure, does the ship look like it has shuttle or hanger bay I can use?)
GM: (Sure!)
Trello: Trello, would start their approach, double checking if there is any response to hails, or any handshake from from the Nostromo's transponder, but continue their final approach to the shuttle bay regardless.
GM: The bay's airlock still functions, thankfully, but that's all one can say here; red emergency lights cast a low light across the room, and it's likely it's the same in many other parts of the ship. Your ship completes its landing procedure without incident, but neither is there any fanfare.
Trello: then cycles their ships atmosphere to match that of the Nostromo, opening the canopy and pulling up a schematic of the ships interior, making their way to the black box.
GM: (Guess that's the cue to roll the first scene?)
Trello: (Yep.)
GM: (Alrighty then!)
GM: !roll 1d4
DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 1d4 for 4 [1d4 = 4]
GM: (Hwoh! Boon right off the bat!)
GM: (Let me set the scene.)
Trello: (Looks like someone knows exactly what they are looking for.)
GM: (Note that you'll have to work for it.)
Trello: (I know, it is at least behind a locked security door.)
GM: After less than an hour of walking, it seems you've found the entrance to the security office; a worthwhile detour, for sure. However, it appears to be In a Weak Lockdown, and you might not even be sure of what you would be looking for once you get into the Messy Office-Space. If you're to get anything useful out of this, it will have to be a Challenge!
GM: (If you're unfamiliar, a Challenge is a series of "Tasks" that are resolved with Create Advantage and Overcome rolls designed to resolve a complex situation.)
GM: (As you're alone, and on a simple Expedition, this one will only be 2 Tasks, should you accept.)
Trello: Would first try to pop open a panel on the door, to get at the wiring, then attempt to basiclly hotwire the door into opening as if Trello already had the security clearance.
Trello: !roll 4df+2 Clever
DiscoDude: <@Trello> rolled 4df+2 for 4 [4df = [+][-][+][+]] Clever
GM: Alright:
- CHALLENGE START -
GM: > Break into the office.
Find something useful among the mess.
GM: (Being a little too proactive there; wait for me! XD (I guess I can edit the log to have these come before the roll. XD))
Trello: (Sorry, that didn't cross my mind. I'll makesure to let you know first next time.)
GM: (But yeah, that first task is a successful Overcome. Describe the outcome, then proceed to the second item; a Create Advantage!)
GM: (Since Approaches are more broad and limited, and since it's not mentioned in Accelerated, I won't enforce the "no repeated Skills during a challenge" rule.)
GM: (Also, assume Fair (+2) passive difficulty unless stated otherwise.)
Trello: (Alright, do I describe the outcome or you?)
GM: (Your choice.)
Trello: within a minute, door casually opens, as if nothing out of the ordinary has occurred. Beyond it, the office thrown about by astroid impacts, or maybe just neglegent crew. Trello would just shrug and try to shuffle through it as fast as they could for anything usefull.
Trello: !roll 4df+3 Quick
DiscoDude: <@Trello> rolled 4df+3 for 6 [4df = [+][+][+][ ]] Quick
GM: (SWS! Not quite something worth undoing with my singular GM Fate Point, so describe your double-boosted aspect (and how you got it)!)
Trello: After another few minutes of not so quietly rifling through papers and drawers moving stuff about, they make their way to a busted console an ID card still in it. The Chief of Security ID Card, though the face on the card naturally doesn't match their own, most of the ship board systems probably don't care about that.
Trello: (So on to the next section?)
GM: (Yep!)
GM: !roll 1d3
DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 1d3 for 2 [1d3 = 2]
GM: (Time for a tricky chokepoint.)
GM: Once you're on your way proper, progress is smooth. Smooth, if not for the security checkpoint blocking the way. To get through, one would have to submit to a security check - good thing there's No-One Manning the Machines that can stop you from just clearing yourself for entry. What's tricky is that some Flickering Power seems to have triggered a short-out, causing the system to reboot in maintenance mode, which means a manual override is needed. If you can't get through here, you'll need to detour through a whole 'nother wing of the ship.
Trello: First thing first, as long as the power is unstable the gate probably won't cooperate, so Trello tries to locate and activate and reserve power for the checkpoint.
GM: (Is this Creating an Advantage for an upcoming Overcome?)
Trello: (I guess? I just don't want power to cut out while I'm trying to pass through the gate, so probably.)
Trello: (is a clever roll good?)
GM: (Clever is good. I was thinking this is either Create Advantage, or an attempt to Overcome Flickering Power so it can't be invoked or compelled against you.)
Trello: (I'll go for create an advantage.)
Trello: !roll 4df+2 Clever
DiscoDude: <@Trello> rolled 4df+2 for 2 [4df = [+][-][+][-]] Clever
Trello: (Alright so a tie, so I get a boost?)
GM: (Yeah. Describe it!)
Trello: While the checkpoint seem to have no way of getting more stable power from the ship, there does seem to be a disposable battery installed for just such emergencies, it is already pretty drain though, odds are it won't last very long at all.
GM: (*Disposable Battery* then?)
Trello: (yeah)
GM: (Alright, now for your second task in this impromptu challenge; actually performing the override.)
GM: (I didn't officially announce a Challenge before because it felt lame to have both of the pre-finale scenes be the same type, even if it made sense to do it that way. I'm over that hangup, now.)
Trello: there is much left ado but pass through the checkpoint, as the poster... alien for GA Mega ships, this proably isn't the first time they've had to deal with a checkpoint like this before, though not quiet like this. Trello just tries to run through the steps as fast as they can before the battery dies on them.
Trello: !roll 4df+3 Quick
DiscoDude: <@Trello> rolled 4df+3 for 0 [4df = [-][-][ ][-]] Quick
GM: (You got that boost you just made and your security officer ID with two invokes to work with.)
GM: (Plus, obviously, three Fate Points.)
GM: (Safe to say this Challenge was won before the dice were thrown.)
GM: (So the only question is; what do you use, and how?)
Trello: I make use of the boost, and burn a fate point on being a GA Pilot, being familiar with these systems and all. (I've got plans for that ID card, great and stupid plans.)
GM: (Hm... Surprised you didn't use your Xenotech Familiarity stunt to only need one of those... Then again, a *Disposable Battery* is kind of a stretch...)
GM: (Well, I'll go with what you decided for now and discuss the intricacies of what does and doesn't count as "xenotech" later.)
Trello: (If it isn't at least as odd as those neural gelpacks on star trek voyager they don't count.)
Trello: Walks through the steps as fast as they can, jumping from between the console and whatever security devices or scanners they need to. Just as the get out the otherside, the entire check point blacksout for a moment, before re-entering maintainance mode.
GM: - - ALERT: OBJECTIVE LOCATED - -
GM: (Ready for the final confrontation?)
Trello: (Yeah)
GM: You finally found it; the lift leading up to the command bridge. According to your intel, the black box you're here to retrieve should be nested under the bosun's desk up there.
Trello: Would take the lift up watching the floor indicator tick up.
GM: (So you've taken the lift up? I was planning on revealing something when the doors opened out onto the bridge, but I can have them be hiding instead.)
Trello: (Oh, sorry, yeah if there is something there go ahead.)
GM: (You editing your post or keeping it as is? I can work with it either way.)
Trello: (Fixed?)
GM: (Alrighty.)
GM: When the doors open with a soft tone, the first thing you notice in the bridge is the bodies. Some belonged to officers likely stationed here; others, what appear to be a skeleton crew of guards and maintenance types. You realize the dark stains in the lift line up with drag-trails leading to the latter just as the captain's chair starts to swivel around.
GM: "Well. Well well well well-well-wellwellwellwell-well well, well, well... well."
Trello: "...Well What?"
GM: "W- Shut up."
As the chair turns to face you, you see a fellow Qwax'Yks wearing a leather jacket (over lots of layers, of course), several loud red bandanas around the neck, and... an eye patch?
"Look who finally decided to show... I figured that 'GA Whoever' you work for now would send someone, and if anyone would get picked for something I scuttle out here, ha, well..." They slam an elbow down on an armrest and lean aggressively into it. "Here we are; my old nemesis. Do you even remember me, I wonder?"
Trello: "I...uh... so you did this all for me?" as Trello quietly tries side step the question, while they try to remember which enemy ace this one could be.
GM: "I had help, but that's not the point. I'll offer one hint: I'm a former opponent of yours; clearly, I'm one of the ones that survived. Think carefully about it."
Trello: Thinks about the list of ace pilots, who weren't confirmed KIA. "To be honest there are more then people usually think, not many decided to do all this for me though." motions to the pile of bodies. "Really though, this seems, excessive, and hard to clean."
Trello: "I must of screwed you out of your big payday or something, huh."
GM: "You'll be even harder to clean up when I'm through with you!" The Qwax'Yks breaks their pose and shoots up to a standing position all of a sudden. "Second hint: Payday nothing! I lost EVERYTHING because of how badly you embarrassed me back then! Now I'm eating out of those jackasses' hands just to even have a chance of rebuilding what I had from the ground up!"
Trello: Finally narrows down the list of ace pilot to something reasonable. "A grudge by humilation, can't be a regular since you would have no buissness doing this. So a mecenary, a privater. You are from that convoy escort I did a while back! Pfffffft, that should of been a milk run any other day, sorry, but thats how it is." Though Trello doubts the Quax'yks is gonna back down now, Trello starts looking for a easy way out... how does the bridge canopy look?
Trello: (trying to quietly create an advantage here.)
GM: (So Conflict Start?)
Trello: (more or less? not in an openly hostile sense, more of a posturing kinda way.)
GM: (Posturing phase ends reeeaaal soon, for the record, but yeah, consider this the first Exchange.)
Trello: Trello tries to look for any cracks in the glass(/advanced space glass?), if they can break it and space this person, it will proably take a little while for them to catch back up, all the while trying to keep them talking.(does clever work?)
GM: (Hm, if that's your strategy for ending this fight, then "keeping them talking" might count as a (Careful) mental attack to get closer to that outcome. However, it's more likely you're just trying to (Cleverly) Create an Advantage by finding the cracks.)
Trello: !roll 4df+2 Clever
DiscoDude: <@Trello> rolled 4df+2 for 2 [4df = [+][ ][ ][-]] Clever
GM: (That's a tie.)
Trello: (Yep, there is something there, but it isn't cracks on the glass it seems? I'll let you fill this one in.)
GM: (One moment.)
Trello: (Sure, no need to rush.)
GM: You don't see any cracks, but you do see something appear in its reflection; the blinking light of a grenade behind their back! This guy must have modded it to be silenced, but now *The Grenade Is a Known Factor*; it's not going to take you off-guard!
"How it 'is' is that you've made an enemy of one Captain Gyō Muerte, and this is where you die for it!" And they lob it directly at you!
GM: (Flashily Attacking here!)
GM: !f 2 (FLASHY)
DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4dF+2 for 1 [4dF = [+][-][-][ ]]
Trello: Trello tries to jump out of the lift before they get hit!
Trello: !f 3 quick
DiscoDude: <@Trello> rolled 4dF+3 for 1 [4dF = [-][-][ ][ ]]
GM: (You'll need to boost for a straight win!)
Trello: ("Hit Z to boost!" - Peppy)
Trello: (But yeah, use it or lose it, I'm using the boost.)
GM: (BTW, establishing [Command Bridge] zone aspects: Dead Bodies Strewn About and The Black Box Is Here Somewhere.)
Trello: (Got it)
Trello: Narrowly dodges the blast, but the lift is probably wrecked.
GM: > EXCHANGE #2
GM: (Your turn!)
Trello: Pulls out an energy weapon, specificly a plasma pistol, sure it won't cause burns in the traditional sense, but it still can disrupt the cohesion of a Quax'yks surface, resulting in rapid dissolution. And begins to try and suppress Gyo as they make their way to cover. (Quick create advantage.)
GM: Gyo doesn't even try to dodge, relying on their padding and guts to see them through. (Rolling FORCEFUL to defend!)
Trello: !f 3 Quick
DiscoDude: <@Trello> rolled 4dF+3 for 4 [4dF = [+][-][+][ ]]
GM: !f 3 (FORCEFUL)
DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4dF+3 for 1 [4dF = [ ][-][ ][-]]
GM: (Ouch.)
GM: It doesn't work so well.
Trello: "If you were like this before... Now I see how I humilated you so utterlly, you just stood there and took it like an idiot!"
GM: (Name the aspect.)
Trello: finds a nice console to hide behind as taking the brunt of the hit pushes Gyo down, Prone on the Ground.
GM: "Mph! You call that a blaster shot! Think it tickled!" Gyo makes an attempt to get up after that last blow. (Attempting to Forcefully Overcome that advantage you created. Would you cry foul to Average (+1) passive difficulty (if not for those invokes)?)
Trello: (I won't invoke against or contest it.)
GM: !f 3 (Forceful)
DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4dF+3 for 2 [4dF = [ ][-][ ][ ]]
GM: (That's a success, unless you want to spend one of those free invokes to boost.)
Trello: (will they completely overcome it if I don't? because if it is a case of use it or lose it I'm gonna use it.)
GM: (Yeah.)
Trello: (Then I invoke it once, to keep them on the ground.)
GM: "Oof..." They're having trouble pulling themselves back together to simply get up from that, though.
Trello: Trello looks around, is there security console here on the bridge?
GM: (Creating advantage again?)
Trello: (I want to try and use it to do something with an advantage I already have.)
Trello: (something in big air quotes, I haven't actually figure out that part yet, but with the right console and the HoS ID there is no way I can't do something nasty, like dial up a security drone or something.)
GM: (So... Create Advantage? Like, I could have the resulting drone or whatever be an aspect that can be invoked and compelled against Gyo.)
Trello: (Summon Beepsky to attempted an arrest.Nevermind, I'm gonna try something else.)
GM: (Yeah, sorry. Summoning full extras is usually reserved for stunts specifically built for that.)
Trello: Ok, first thing first I want that blackbox, I already should know where it is with the schematic(if I need to justify how useful that schematic is becoming, lets just say I used my info stunt to get it. Need to Know), it should be a matter of pulling it which shouldn't be too hard, right?
GM: (So... Creating an Advantage to try and cause something to happen, or Overcome to turn retreat into an alternate win condition?)
Trello: (Overcome to achive part of a win condition)
GM: (Alright, roll it!)
GM: (Also, I think the idea of Trello having Better Things To Do™️ than this rivalry is hilarious.)
Trello: !f 2 Clever
DiscoDude: <@Trello> rolled 4dF+2 for 3 [4dF = [-][+][ ][+]]
GM: (That's enough for victory! Describe your success!)
Trello: (fighting directly would be hard and unessecary, it isn't part of the job either so...)
Trello: runs for it while Gyo is still on the floor crowbarring the panel open with whatever is at hand pulling cable quickly but carefully as to not damage the blackbox or corrupt any data on it. Stashing it on them and prepairing to make their way back out, somehow.
GM: Meanwhile, Gyo tries to get up again!
GM: !f 3 (FORCEFUL)
DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4dF+3 for 5 [4dF = [-][+][+][+]]
GM: (Oof! If you use the remaining free invoke on it, that'll prevent it from being a success with style, at least.)
Trello: (yeah sure.)
Trello: (Are there any still working lifts or is the only one busted by the grenade?)
GM: While that seemed to be the only fully functional lift at the time of this encounter (likely on purpose; Gyo behaves like a brute, but he's not stupid), there are several escape pods still operational.
Trello: Do I know for a fact Gyo didn't sabatoge them, or do they only look good from here?
Trello: Because they really aren't nessecary for me or them and Gyo probably would be aware of this, save them have that as their exit plan.
GM: (They aren't sabotaged, unless Gyo succeeds at a "retroactive" type Create Advantage action. Also, was it your intention to put all these OOC questions in IC chat without parentheses?)
Trello: (Sorry, ok, hmm... I dunno, I guess I'm looking for an excuse for the hardest way out.)
GM: (Sorry, I took the initial question to mean you wanted me to throw a bone. To be fair, the escape pods were always there; they were my initial plan for how to eject either you or Gyo depending on who won the conflict straight up.)
Trello: (I was still bent on blowing out the canopy as an escape plan, though that was kinda contingent on a few other factors. The escape pods are way easier.)
Trello: Trello moves for the escape pods, probably the fastest way out of here and back to their ship.
Trello: !f 3 Quick
DiscoDude: <@Trello> rolled 4dF+3 for 4 [4dF = [ ][+][ ][ ]]
GM: "Where do you think you're going?!"
GM: !f 2 (FLASHY Defend)
DiscoDude: <@GM> rolled 4dF+2 for 0 [4dF = [-][-][+][-]]
GM: (...)
GM: They try to shoot and discourage your escape, but that fails. (Describe how, and uh... the resulting boost?)
Trello: "Back to the easiest pay check I've ever made." Gyo hits a pipe behind Trello, causing to create a plume of coolant to form behind them. Automated damage control systems kick in right after, but the cloud takes a little longer to dissipate.(more time to get back to the ship.)
GM: (I think there's clauses for a SWS to simply result in an extreme version of success instead of a boost.)
"No- NO! COME BACK HERE! YOU WON'T EVEN FIGHT ME!"
GM: (Because uh... for the record, Gyo isn't supposed to actually have his new ship yet at this stage, so...)
Trello: "Correction, I'm not getting paid to fight you, and I have no reason to!"
GM: (He has fuck-all to chase you with. XD)
Trello: (Oh, wow, thats why no space battle is occuring.)
GM: (Yeah, when deciding which two of his stunts to lock for the intro expedition fight, I decided on his ship stunts (because it'd make no sense to lock one and not the other)... and by extension, the ship itself. XD)
Trello: (I kinda feel bad for 'em too, I kinda just waltz in one door and out the other.)
Trello: (I kinda hope they at least get something from this.)
GM: (So... Conflict over? Unconventional victory? XD)
Trello: (Unless Gyo has a trick up their sleve, yeah.)
GM: (Yeah, they'll become more important in the ranks of "those jackasses" once wind is caught of you getting sucked into Explorer Society business... because of them. XD)
Trello: (If any weapons are still online that might be an option, but HoS ID and Ace Pilot make that near impossible.)
GM: (Anywho, describe your unconventional victory lap. XD)
Trello: (Man, I really feel bad for that though now. Like, Trello completely ruined their day... but yeah ok, victory lap.)
GM: (Or normal victory, if you'd prefer that.)
Trello: (I'd like if Gyo would be able to get something useful out of this, a silver lining to it or something.)
GM: (If he does, you won't be there to witness it. Just describe what you do next already, we're burning moonlight.)
Trello: Trello would quickly make their way back to the shuttle bay once more, this time in a much less stylish ride, but after remedying that, the was only one thing left to do. Trello flys off clear of the belt, and jumps to warp.
Trello: (Not even a little scene at the end of the antagonist doing something a bit sinister?)
GM: (No, but stay tuned for some post-scene with you, set after you return the device.)
GM: - - END EXPEDITION - -
GM: Eventually, you return the black box and give your report. There's some talk of Gyo being responsible, but some debate about how they managed to pull it off, but hey, your only concern is the big check they give you for your trouble, right? Where might you be spending some of it right now?
Trello: Well, Trello managed to get off without injury, or loss of equipment, and it was a relatively normal flight, so no real overhead. Making off with so much of the check after the fact is rarity. Trello would probably take some of the excess for upgrading their ship.
Trello: Or rather, looking for them, lost tech is the best tech after all.
GM: So right now, you'd probably be overseeing just that in a garage somewhere, or perhaps somewhere else? Where are you right now?
Trello: A GA Mega Archive.
Trello: Or... something along those lines, somewhere they can find info on lost tech.
GM: It's certainly an interesting place to get approached by a human in khakis. He has blond hair and a deep tan, and seems to not like how the employees are eyeing him and his guard.
"Oy mate; this 'Nearlight' I'm talking to?"
Trello: "The one and only. Though... if you are here to hire me, you are going about it wrong, there are offical channels for that you know." Trello only turns away from their screen after finishing say this however.
GM: "Not here for a job offer - we're more of a membership group anyhow. Nah, Oi'm just here 'cause I heard... things, through certain channels. Something 'bout an encounter you had recently during yer most recent... hullabaloo."
Trello: "Not really, it only involved one explosion. And it wasn't that impressive.... So, what do you want? You clearly were looking for me specificlly, so it must be something."
GM: "Not askin' 'bout the wot, Oi'm askin' 'bout the who. Moi sources tell me you had a foit with someone; someone we've been troyin' to bring into custody."
Trello: "Gyo, a privater, I met them on the ship. I imagine a lot of people want them, being a privater and all."
Trello: "Though wanting a fight with me specificlly, now that was standout. Though they weren't prepaired in the end. Wait, don't tell me there was a bounty on them, awww.... I didn't think about that."
GM: "Probably will be once that stunt's made public, if there ain't one already. If it goes public. Oi'm more interested in the folks they've been talking to in the meantime, though."
GM: He glances around, and nods to the guard, and the two huddle towards you, the tall guard acting as a living privacy screen to any lookers on. The human shows you a photo of Gyo, taken from behind. He seems to be in the company of some uniformed goons with red belts and arm-bands bearing the symbol of what looks like an eye being stabbed; one in particular stands out as a fairly tall reptile(?) clad full in armor and wearing a long-snouted demon mask.
GM: "Some real bad folks, see? This goi could yield some real impertant information, so any info you could give us about them would be real appreciated."
Trello: "Never saw them, maybe the crew did if thats what you are trying to get at, but I don't think they are in a position to answer questions at this point. But it would explain the how on what happened, it wasn't exactly a one person job."
Trello: "But since you're here, why don't you answer me this, why would these, fellows, want to see Gyo's revenge to light. If they would."
GM: "Eesh..." The human scratches his head. "Explainin' whoy that there Department of Wrath promotes grudge matches and revenge plots... 's loik askin' whoy predators eat meat. Though if it were just that feller wanting a piece of you, then that sorta explains whoy those goys went to the trouble when you weren't even on Explorer business... An eccentricity they were indulgin'? Yeah, lookin' more loikly the more Oi think of it."
Trello: "So thats it, all that for a grudge match. Pffft, one I didn't even give them?" breaks out into laughter. "Well, at least that kinda explains it."
Trello: finishes their little chuckle. "I kinda feel bad for them now. Anyway, I suppose this isn't the last I've seen of them, or you, huh."
GM: "Yeah, well, Oi'm not happy you just left them there to escape. You moight want to get in touch with us if that Gyo character tries to drag you into Department of Wrath business again. An' hey, if you're getting yourself into positions where you'd plausibly run into them - dunno if they'd go out of their way to indulge that card again without good reason, so even if you're in the habit of looking for, say, a scenic view for your next landscape or a lost piece of tech just to spiff up your ship or something - hey, may as well call us, roight? Explorers' Society will hook you up if you need leads on those sorts of things, and you moight even win an award if you manage to outpace the rest of us in getting credit for following through!" The man turns and starts walking way, and his guard hands you a pamphlet before following. "Don't be a stranger!"
Trello: Would simple look over the pamphlet, presumably with Explorers' Society emboldened on the front of it and shrug. Sound worth a look, at least, right?
GM: (Is that good for your last line?)
Trello: (Yeah.)
GM: (Then let us...)
