  5. GM: The snow is falling as Sabrina and <@!Alyka>'s mission begins. Their goal; to scout out the Outsiders' smuggling operation. The only thing in their way are two districts with patrols and a large wall dividing the two. Before the two can set out, Nico tells them that the comms jamming means that the area is currently in a radio silence zone, so they'll be on their own once they set out.
  6. Reality Glitch: "Pfft. I work better in silence anyway." Sabrina snarks.
  7. GM: (Feel free to roleplay now. I'll let you know if you need to roll for something.)
  8. Reality Glitch: ((I am, thus the comment Sabrina made to Nico.))
  9. Alyka: "It sure is freezing here..." Allie is wearing a coat now "Well, There seems to be enemy scouts ahead, do you have an idea to share?"
  10. GM: (And really, I encourage you both to post in smaller chunks. We're on a strict time limit, even if it's a long one.)
  11. Reality Glitch: "You're kidding right? This is my *element*!" Sabrina proclaims before she drops her dark-black cloak, revealing her ~~birthday~~snow suit and hops straight into the snow; fortunately, her normally green-dyed hair is it's natural white, matching her fur, so she practically disappears. After getting a few meters away from the tent, the snow is loose enough that even her meager body weight sinks in it, completely engulfing her. At this point she has to hops out of the hole she creates to move onward without burrowing--which would be to slow.
  12. Alyka: "W-What are you doing?!"
  13. Reality Glitch: "Shh.... Be quite! You'll give us away."
  14. GM: The pair is still a moderate distance from the outer ruins. (So you'll both roll stealth to enter the outer ruins and approach the wall?)
  15. Reality Glitch: ((Well, with the seen aspect ***Freshly Fallen Snow***, that should be too hard for Sabrina.))

  28. GM: Sabrina's methods may seem a little silly, especially since her parter can only follow behind to her own best ability, but soon the pair have made it far into the outer ruins with little difficulty.
  29. GM: The patrols seem to get more dense as they approach the wall, however, culminating around a large portcullised gate. (It's up to you how you want to deal with this. You can observe for an opening, try to scale the wall, or something I hadn't thought of, if you wished.)
  30. Reality Glitch: ((Sabrina will wait for an opening using her **Eyes in the Dark** stunt to roll Stealth for this.))

  39. GM: (But guards weren't even the main problem; the gate is blocked with a portcullis.)

  42. GM: (Also, Alyka can't follow that way.)
  43. GM: ((Unless she can?))
  44. Reality Glitch: ((Don't worry, Sabrina can ***get Anyone to Anywhere***.))
  45. Alyka: (Yeeeah, Alyka is not small by any means, and i dobut she could get her Potion Set through there)
  46. Reality Glitch: ((You could invoke Sabrina's aspect to try and squeeze through, or I can to have her find a different way in for Alyka.))
  47. GM: (Well, there is my thing.)
  48. GM: (Which I guess you can make a separate Notice roll for.)

  50. GM: (To notice a truck coming.)

  52. GM: (This is a smuggling operation you're investigating, remember? There must be some avenue to the smuggling. XD)
  53. Alyka: (i have a +1 at Notice, unless Sabrina has a better mod)
  54. Reality Glitch: Sabrina, to Alyka: "I'm going to slip between the bars on that gate; do you think you can get in, or do I need assist your fat @$$?"
  55. GM: (I guess either of you can roll Notice.)
  56. Alyka: "H-Hey, what gives the language?!"
  57. Alyka: (lemme roll it, unless again Sabrina can do better xP)
  58. Reality Glitch: "Compared to me, I'm not wrong, am I?"

  62. GM: Sabrina's ears suddenly perk up as she hears the faint rumbling of a truck approaching from the west. Come again, the gate does have a road leading out from it going past the base's north side.
  63. Reality Glitch: Sabrina: "On second thought: we can sneak in with that truck."
  64. Alyka: "And who gave you the rights to Judg- Huh, a truck?" *Alyka turns around to see the truck*
  65. GM: And here comes that [Golden Opportunity][!] right now. The truck rolls up, and stops a few dozen feet from the gate, as a single guard steps forward to inspect it.
  66. Reality Glitch: Sabrina whispers, "NOW! MOVE! MOVE! MOVE!" as she bolt past Alyka to close the gap in time for both to cross the gate.
  67. GM: (The gate isn't open yet.)
  68. Reality Glitch: ((I assumed we were a decent distance away from them.))
  69. Reality Glitch: (At least four or five zones.))
  70. GM: (I mean, the truck stopped short, and a patrolling guard came out to inspect it before they could give the okay to open the gate.)
  71. GM: (I was under the assumption you were like 1 or 2 zones away on a nearby rooftop or alleyway overlooking the gate.)
  72. Reality Glitch: ((I assumed Sabrina was still in the snow! Then again, snow can be on rooftops. I *really need a more deatiled map of the ruins; I thought the whole outer region was flat!))
  73. GM: (No, the whole grey region is the ruins of an ancient city.)
  74. GM: (I thought the label of "Outer Ruins" was pretty clear, but okay.)
  75. Reality Glitch: That means it's also much *larger* than I thought. Was there as scale on that map?))
  76. GM: (It was just something I threw together mid-session as a loose visual aid.)
  77. GM: (Can we just proceed?)
  78. Reality Glitch: ((Now you can understand why I'm obsessed with visual detail.))
  79. Reality Glitch: ((Anyway, with the assumption of 1 or 2 zones of distance, I can recton my statement.))

  88. GM: (Generally, in the future, you need to tell me what your character is attempting to accomplish, how they intend to do so, and *then* we decide what to roll.)

  92. Alyka: "Jump from that roof to the truck? I just hope my flasks don't break..."
  93. GM: (So, Athletics for both of you to perform this feat, and then Stealth to not get caught?)

  95. Reality Glitch: "Only one way to find out." Sabrina says as she turns to Alyka and gives an evil grin.

  97. GM: The guard, meanwhile, after checking the underside of the truck, opens up the back and starts checking around inside.
  98. Reality Glitch: "We'll need to wait for the truck to start moving again, though, if we want the best chance of further muffling our entry."
  99. GM: There's... actually the sound of a scuffle, and the guard starts yelling? It dies down, however, and he gets back out with what appears to be a bruise on his cheek. He slams the back doors in disgust and waves to the gate. It rumbles as it begins to open.
  100. Reality Glitch: "Strange? I like it. Let's jump on 3."
  101. Reality Glitch: "3!"
  102. Reality Glitch: Sabrina hopes down on top the truck roof.
  103. GM: (Dude, you didn't let her finish. XD)
  104. Reality Glitch: ((Sabrina's like that.))
  105. Alyka: "H-Hey, Where is the Countdown?!?!" Alyka Attempts to jump towards the truck too, startled.
  106. GM: (Both of you roll Athletics (I think).)

  144. GM: As the truck starts moving, two shapes land on its roof.
  145. GM: If Alyka had jumped one second earlier or one second later, she would have never made it.
  146. GM: (It's alright if I make Allie the source of the minor negative complication, right?)

  148. GM: (Or does it have to be from the roller or an outside force?)
  149. Reality Glitch: ((It can be from any source so long as it affects the roller's character.))
  150. GM: As the guard turned back around, however, he noticed a **-White Streak-** flying out of the corner of his vision. It... was probably nothing... No, he still has to call this in. They had to call *everything* in; doesn't matter how unlikely or mundane the issue is.
  151. GM: The mistress stressed that they do so.
  152. Reality Glitch: ((But I'm allowed right of first refusal for what the cost is for my character.))
  153. GM: (And you refuse this?)
  154. Reality Glitch: ((I was going to have the cost be her forgetting to use **4'33"**, but this is fine.))
  155. Reality Glitch: (( <@!GM> ? <@!Alyka> ?))

  157. GM: (I'm here. This boost basically means the guards are about to be on slightly higher alert.)
  158. Reality Glitch: (( <@!Alyka> Yeah, basically, she'd see you miss the mark and blurt out something like "Pellets!" then clapping her mouth realizing she didn't say that on silent mode.))
  159. GM: Soon, the roof of the gate passes over the duo, and the other side reveals an expanse of ruins that seem somewhat more intact.
  160. GM: Not much time to admire this, however, as the truck exits out the other side of the gate, and quickly approaches a plaza that's swarming with guards.
  161. GM: (Gonna need Athletics (to the roofs) or Stealth (to the alleyways/staying on the truck) from both of you (unless you can think of something else).)
  162. Reality Glitch: ((Stealth to Overcome the the guards Defending with Notice/Investigate.))
  163. Alyka: (**-TENSION RISES-** oh god, I will go with stealth too)
  164. GM: (So I'll be rolling for the guards?)
  165. Reality Glitch: Sabrina hunkers down among the snow that fell to the roof with her. Her small size coupled with the color and texture of her fur means she's likely to pass as just another lump of snow as long as she keeps her head down and remains still.

GM: Not gonna lie, these two cut it close; Alyka manages to slip off the truck in an uncharacteristically quiet fashion and ducks into an alley seconds before a guard stops the truck to do another inspection. Sabrina could feel his gaze bearing into her as he checks above the roof, then abate when he decides that nothing is there after all.
  192. GM: Now the truck proceeds into the main plaza in front of a set of large storm doors. It stops after turning around. Alyka is in prime position to start taking photos at this point.
  193. GM: Some guards walk up to the truck's back.
  194. Reality Glitch: Sabrina risks peeking up to get her barrings.
  195. GM: (Is she facing the front of the truck, or the back?)
  196. Alyka: (won't you mean.....her *bearrings? :P*)
  197. GM: (If the back, then she has a pretty good view of the show, too.)
  198. Reality Glitch: ((She's lined up with the truck, but will attempt a 360 observation.))
  199. GM: (Ooh, that might require a Stealth roll.)
  200. Reality Glitch: (( <@!Alyka> Yes.))
  201. GM: (I take it Sab also has a camera? This action wouldn't have much point if she didn't.)
  202. Reality Glitch: ((She brought her own; yes.))

  204. GM: (What skill is associated with "taking good photos," BTW?)

  206. GM: (Probably Investigate in this instance. Or Shoot.)
  207. Reality Glitch: ((If you're just trying to record things then Investigate to find something to photograph, but if you want to be a photographer about it then an additional roll with whatever skill is the art skill (usually Lore) would be needed.))

  218. GM: There's a point where Sabrina has to freeze for a bit when one of the guards gets suspicious, but now she's **-Pointed The Right Way-** without major issue.
  219. Alyka: (i know, i was refering to my skill level during this rolls xD)
  220. GM: It's at this point that the doors of the truck are thrown open. Several guards move in.
  221. GM: They're carrying bags.
  222. GM: They then begin to bring out...
  223. GM: People. People with those same bags over their heads.
  224. Reality Glitch: Sabrina is using her *Super-Secret Super-Spy Finger-Tip Photo-Lens* to record live footage of all of this.
  225. GM: Many are Pygmy Pyzkies. Some, regular Pyzkies. Two Borealian Foxes, and even a foreign Rock Candies, all bound, covered, and presumably gagged.
  226. Alyka: *Allie puts on of her paws on her mouth* "Oh my...." *She puts her camera to good use, trying to take photos of the event*
  227. GM: (Both roll either Investigate or Shoot.)
  228. Reality Glitch: ((Actually, I don't think a roll is necessary this time.))
  229. GM: ("Shoot" because you're basically trying to aim a camera good, y'know?)
  230. GM: (Ah, okay.)
  231. Reality Glitch: ((Not much interesting would come out of success or failure in this situation.))
  232. GM: (Right.)
  233. Alyka: (aww damnit, i have a +1 at shoot xD)
  234. Reality Glitch: ((Also, Shoot to aim the camera doesn't feel right to me, since you don't need Shoot to aim your eyes.))
  235. GM: The procession is led to the heavily guarded steel storm gate, which opens to reveal stairs that proceed into the earth. Apparently, there's a level beneath these ruins?
  236. GM: The moment the last prisoner is inside, the doors close. You're pretty sure they were all topsiders.
  237. Reality Glitch: ~~Sabrina slips off the truck on the opposite side from where everyone seems to be headed and burrow, ears deep, throw the snow, under the truck, to get a better shot and hopefully follow them in undetected.~~
  238. GM: (There's still a bunch of guards lining the plaza.)
  239. Reality Glitch: ((Oh, fooie. That was supposed to be in between your two posts.))
  240. GM: (Like, we're talking "a whole mission just to set up the operation to break in here" levels of security here.)
  241. GM: (Anyways, may I continue?)
  242. GM: (Because there's still like half a dozen guards with their eyes on the truck here.)
  243. Reality Glitch: ((Sabrina's still going to *try* to sneak in and get more footage.))
  244. Reality Glitch: ((I guess she'll wait then.))
  245. GM: (Alright.)
  246. GM: After the doors close, the truck begins to move again; this time heading back the way it came.
  247. GM: (Alyka, you should probably get moving.)
  248. Reality Glitch: Sabrina waits for a the right time to hop off while still within the inner ruins, but out of sight of anyone. Or at the very least, seem like nothing more than snow falling off the truck.
  249. Alyka: *Allie stops Taking photos and looks deeper into the alley, maybe she can get to the roofs and see where sabrina went?*
  250. GM: (So, either Investigate or Athletics to get to the rooftops, Alyka. Stealth for RG.)

  276. Reality Glitch: ((Also, I think Overcome might be the better action in this case: meaning success at minor cost, in this case that cost is a spending the ***Small Silhouette*** boost.))

  278. GM: (But anyways, even with the boost, sneaking right up to this tightly guarded door in the middle of this tightly guarded plaza is a difficulty of like +6.)
  279. Reality Glitch: ((She's not sneaking up to them, she's distracting them: i.e. making them think there's a problem elsewhere that needs there attention for long enough for her to get in without needing a stealth roll (or at least a lower difficulty on one).))

  281. GM: (*sigh* then you'd be rolling against a flat +6, because it'd take quite a feat to draw the attention of every guard in the plaza.)

  285. Reality Glitch: ((That'd probably be easier anyway, considering that she can stay relatively hidden while doing so.

  287. GM: (I intended locating the prisoners underground (the smuggling operation, part II) to be a future mission.)
  288. Reality Glitch: ((I'm basically self-compelling either ***Prankster and Menace …. to Both Sides*** or ***Arctic Hare Shinobi*** (whichever one you think is more fitting) to keep her in longer just for all the juicy dirt she could pick up.))
  289. GM: (And I'm telling you now that even if you took out every guard here, you're still gonna be disappointed.)
  290. Reality Glitch: ((Me, the player, or Sabrina?))
  291. GM: (And I'm about to be forced to go out to dinner, besides.)

  293. Reality Glitch: ((Also, I was under the impression that there's enough time between missions for Sabrina to get offed if things go south and still manage to get back to Glissod.))
  294. Reality Glitch: ((But if that *really* needs to not happen, then she never got of the truck in the first place and she rides it out of there.))
  295. GM: (Thank you. My dad's allowing me 30 minutes, or he's leaving without me.)
  296. GM: The truck approaches the gate. Where is <@!Alyka> at this point?
  297. Alyka: (Well, I asumed she went further down the alley, right?)
  298. Alyka: (trying to get towards the roof)
  299. GM: (There's a lot of alleys.)
  300. GM: (And her ride is driving away now.)
  301. Reality Glitch: ((Did <@!Alyka> get to the roof? That's the important question here, because I remember the roll being made, but no result being given from the G.M.))
  302. GM: (She didn't.)
  303. GM: (I sort of assumed that was retconned too. Sorry.)
  304. Reality Glitch: ((There was never any discussion of that, with <@!Alyka> or otherwise.))
  305. GM: (Look, I'm just in panic mode to resolve this in the time allotted at this point.)
  306. Reality Glitch: ((Then hand-Waive it and say we get out without incident.))
  307. GM: (So Alyka reaches a road just as the truck is passing by, and Sabrina helps her up?)
  308. Reality Glitch: ((Assuming she has the upper-body strength; yes.))
  309. Reality Glitch: ((But for the sake of hand-waiving, that'll be sufficient.))
  310. Alyka: ((Yeah, that sounds good enough.))
  311. GM: Just as Alyka reaches a road, the truck is passes her by. Sabrina only barely manages to help her up.
  312. Reality Glitch: Sabrina struggles to pull Alyka up onto the truck roof. "Oph! You've got a fatter @$$ than I thought."
  313. Alyka: "S-Shut up!"
  314. Reality Glitch: "Sh! Be quiet."
  315. GM: They manage to lay low as the truck moves out of the ruins altogether, and it becomes safe to slip off.
  316. GM: However, as they do so... Back in the inner ruins...
  317. Reality Glitch: Sabrina hops off the truck, not waiting for Alyka, and books it back to base camp, wear she grabs up her cloak and puts it back on. Those that remained in the tent knowing by now that it's enchanted to double as a refrigerator, keeping Sabrina cool no matter the outside temperature.
  318. GM: A guard finds an odd round vial in the snow, once belonging to a certain apothecary medic. He shouts for an investigation team even after its owner is long-gone, while a red "X" blazes above the outer ruins to the southeast, and spotlights continue struggling to find aerial foes either real or imagined.
  319. Alyka: Alyka manages to keep up with Sabrina and tells her a single sentence "Call me fat again and im gonna shove snow through your mouth!" Allie seems to have had enough of Sabrina.
  320. Reality Glitch: "HA! You're funny! You actually think that's a treat to me!"
  321. GM: Above it all, in the ruined castle, a taloned claw scrapes down the window pane as its owner watches, gnashing her teeth.
  322. GM: (Final lines?)
  323. Alyka: "Hmph, you are gonna *drown* in snow at this rate..."
  324. Reality Glitch: "Welp! Got some footage. Would really have liked to go further, but there were some .... complications. Long story short: they now know that little miss puffy-tush over here dropped something; hopefully, not acid."
  325. Reality Glitch: She winks at <@!Alyka> .
  326. GM: (Wait, how does she know?)
  327. Reality Glitch: ((Fourth-wall break/hand-waived/because she needs *some* reason. Take your pick.))
  328. Reality Glitch: ((I'm trying to rationalize the break in character.))
  329. Reality Glitch: ((Also, how does <@!Alyka> respond to that comment? Sabrina never said "fat".))
  330. Reality Glitch: ((Also, I watched Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 last night, so that's where I got the idea of the "wink" from.))
  331. Alyka: "I Dropped one of them?!" *Alyka Checks her Potion set , there are many things and its all one big mess becasue of the prior trip* "Oh no...its gonna take me hours to make sure i didn't leave anything..."
  332. GM: (Alright, then with that, let us...)
