i look up at the night sky, i see not stars, but white gridlines on a black backdrop.

i toss my cigarette butt, it not fall to earth but continues to flip end over end into the sky.

i drink a can of soda, place it down and there are not the couple i consumed, but a few dozen empty cans.

i clench in my fist a black trash bag, i look down, and my fist is empty.

i drive thru a green, i am t-boned like hell, all is static, i am back stopped at a green as the opposing car races thru the red.

i lay dead on the bed, i see across the opposite wall my family coming home from shopping, they walk in the room, and simply go on past. an hour past and i am alive.

i drive for an hour, and arrive in mere minutes.

i sit to eat my morning meal get up to leave and it is the following day's evening.

i go into a theatre and come out it's the beginning of the two weeks prior.

one moment i see on the news fireballs raining into monacco as well as most other major cities, the next day it is the prior but nowhere near armageddon.

i draw an artpiece, years later i see my artwork line for line stroke for stroke in a city miles away, having been drawn the prior day.

one week to the next technology as a whole has either upgraded or downshifted by a factor of 5 to 10 years.

the people i meet, are not as they seem, one day they are someone the next they are alien to me.

one day my apartment is as it was, the next there's my girlfriend's strewn about clothes from nights that have already passed weeks prior.

do i have to mention that of all the clocks i have ever owned, none have ever told the correct time longer than 3 days?

or that i have woken from my dreams, falling from the air landing with such force into my bed that i fall thru the boxspring?

nothing is ever as it seems
