(raising eyebrows)
But you haven't even met him yet!

SARA

TOM (30), a smartly dressed man, sits at his desk. He looks at his phone, displaying the same HeartConnect app.

TOM
(to coworker)
This is it. My chatbot has been talking to this girl's chatbot, and tonight, we finally meet in person. No more awkward first dates!

COWORKER
(smiling)
Well, good luck with that!

CUT TO:

INT. UPSCALE RESTAURANT - NIGHT

Sara and Tom nervously wait at separate tables, each with their chatbot displayed on their phone.

WAITER
(looking at the chatbots)
Is this your first HeartConnect date?

SARA
(smiling)
Yes, it is!

WAITER
Well, enjoy! It's always interesting to see how it plays out.

CUT TO:

Sara and Tom finally meet in person, both looking nervous but excited.

SARA
Hi, you must be Tom!

TOM
Yeah, that's me. You're Sara, right?

SARA
(smiling)
Yes, I am!

As the date progresses, Sara and Tom become more and more reliant on their chatbots, which leads to a decrease in genuine interaction.

EXT. UPSCALE RESTAURANT - NIGHT

After the date, Sara and Tom walk out of the restaurant, looking unsure about the outcome.

TOM
So...I guess that was nice.

SARA
Yeah, it was interesting, for sure.

CUT TO:

INT. SARA'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

Sara flops onto her couch, looking frustrated.

(to herself)
Maybe our chatbots matched, but did we?

CUT TO:

INT. TOM'S APARTMENT - NIGHT

Tom, sitting on his bed, looks at the HeartConnect app, then at a photo of Sara.

TOM
(to himself)
Who are we really dating? Each other or our chatbots?

CUT TO:

INT. COFFEE SHOP - DAY

Sara, holding a coffee, approaches Tom, who is seated at a table.

SARA
Hey, Tom. I was thinking, maybe we could try this again, without the chatbots?

TOM
(smiling)
I was thinking the same thing. Let's just be ourselves.

As they begin talking, the camera pulls away, showing the HeartConnect app on a table, unused.
