- How to change your IP address in less than a minute
- . Click "Start" in the lower left corner of the screen.
- . Click "Run".
- . Type "command" and click ok
- You should now be on an MS-DOS prompt screen.
- . Type "ipconfig / release" like this, and press "enter".
- . Type "exit" and let the prompt
- . Right-click "Network Favourites" or "Network Favourites" on your desktop.
- . Click "properties".
- You should now be on a screen with something called "Local Area Connection", or something close to that, and,
- if you have a network connected, all your other networks.
- . Right-click on "Local Area Connection" and click "properties".
- . Double-click on "Internet Protocol (TCP / IP)" in the list under the "General" tab.
- . Click on "Use the following IP address" in the "General" tab.
- . Create an IP address (whatever it is. I just type 1 and 2 until I fill in the field).
- . Press "Tab" and it should automatically fill the "Subnet Mask" section with the default numbers.
- . Press the "Ok" button here
- . Press the "Ok" button again
- You should now return to the "Local Area Connection" screen.
- . Right-click on "Local Area Connection" and go back to Properties.
- . Return to "TCP / IP" settings
- . This time, select "Obtain an IP address automatically".

- . Hit "Ok"
- . Hit "Ok" again
- . You now have a new IP address
- With a little practice, you can easily get this process up to 15 seconds.
