<p>Although Zai seems to be apathetic at first glance, he's actually fairly earnest. He has a strong moral compass and doesn’t hesitate to step in when he sees injustice. It's not a phenomenon for him to smile or laugh, but to see him truly happy is quite rare.</p>

<p>Zai doesn’t try to “please” or fit in with people - however, he can’t stand it when he’s not taken seriously. He values friendships and/or relationships with others, but tries not to emotionally invest himself with anyone too much.</p>

<p>He grew up in a rather normal household. When he graduated from middle school, he wanted to go to a prestigious highschool so he could pursue kendo and other types of training-esque arts. However, due to the commute and costly fees, he couldn’t afford to go there. Zai settled with a mediocre public high school and ended up joining their kendo club. Hey, something is better than nothing!</p>

<p>Zai isn’t the sassy or dramatic type, but right before he gets really upset, he rolls his eyes. Take it as a cue to back off.</p>

<p>He enjoys drinking tea, probably because it replaces his lack of human warmth and touch with others. Sad.</p>

<p>He almost always carries his bokken (wooden sword) with him, even in circumstances that make no sense.</p>

<p>Zai got his nose pierced during middle school during an “emo” phase. Don't ask about it.</p>

<p>If Zai encounters a bird(s), he'll be overjoyed to the point it's almost out-of-character.</p>

<p>Zai is his nickname. When his real name is put together (Zhèngyì / 正义), it means “justice” in Chinese.</p>
