After reaching it's maximum size, an Echophin can use it's fin to project it's pyschic abilities across vast distances. Using sonar to detect Predators or other Echophins from over 100km away.

A small worm like pokemon which feeds upon leaves and small insects, it secretes a thick black glue which it can use to create webbing and trap prey.
As it grows, the black mark on it's back grows in size until it's entire body is black.
