その時だった。ドンと鈍い音が沖合から聞こえたかと思うと、巨大な火だるまと化した何かが長い放物線を描いて飛んできた。それはまっすぐ本部が置かれた港湾ビル激突した。崩れ去った港湾ビルは、たちまちのうちに火に包まれた。

It was at that time. I heard a dull thud from offshore, and then something that turned into a giant fireball flew in a long parabola. It crashed straight into the port building where the headquarters was located. The collapsed port building was quickly engulfed in flames.

炎の中でかろうじてそれが駆潜艇であることが見て取れた。

Through the flames I could barely make out that it was a submarine chaser.

ゴジラの怒りに触れた駆潜艇は、その一撃で真っ二つに折れ、炎の塊となってこの港に突き返されたのだった。

Touched by Godzilla’s wrath, the submarine destroyer was snapped in two by the blow, and was thrown back into the port in a ball of flame.

そのゴジラからの贈り物に、その場の一同の表情が凍りついた。

The expressions of everyone there froze at the gift from Godzilla.

思い出したように空襲警報が鳴り響いた。

As I remembered, an air raid siren sounded.

「水中拡声器部隊、壊滅!ゴジラが相模湾に侵入!海神隊、直ちに出航せよ!」

“Underwater loudspeaker unit destroyed! Godzilla invades Sagami Bay! Sea God squad, set sail immediately!”

その時、甲板から何事かに気づいた秋津が沖合を指さした。

At that moment, Akitsu noticed something from the deck and pointed offshore.

そこには波をかき分けて走る巨大な背びれがあった。

There was a huge dorsal fin that ran through the waves.

ゴジラだ。

It’s Godzilla.

「オイあれ」

“Hey, that’s it”

「もうこんな所に?」

“Are you here already?”

港湾の入り口に仕掛けられた機雷が次々と爆発するが、ゴジラはまるで意に介さずまっすぐ港めがけて優雅に泳いでいた。

The mines planted at the entrance to the port explode one after another, but Godzilla gracefully swims straight toward the port, as if he doesn’t care.
