Ak'kili targeted a spot two steps behind Dakdwade. When her disc returned, she grabbed it and let the momentum spin her around. She added as much momentum as she could into that turn. Right before she completed a rotation, she threw her smart disc at him. She then fired three flechettes at his feet. The shots surprised him. They also forced him to take two steps backward. Dakdwade was so focused on her that he never saw her disc come at him from behind. Its angle of descent was steep by design. It didn't strike him in the back. Instead it hit the back of his left heel, slicing through his heavy boots and the tendon beneath.

He hissed and shifted his weight to his other foot.
Dakdwade fired energy flechettes at her but she dodged every one. Ak'kili swiftly closed the distance between them. She slashed at his vulnerable midsection. Dakdwade hopped
backward, avoiding her attack. He slashed with his own blades. Despite his movement being hampered he attacked with such lethal precision that he managed to slash her left bicep. Ak'kili ignored the pain. She kicked at his injured heel, not to damage it further but to dislodge and flip up her disc.
Ak'kili grabbed it with her left hand. The weight made her injured arm burn. She clenched her mandibles and steeled herself. Ak'kili used the disc like a big knife, slashing and punching at him with it without trying to hit him. Dakdwade deflected her blows, mostly with the wrist
blade on his right gauntlet. The second he deflected with his left Ak'kili struck.

Ak'kili brought down her wrist blade and stabbed his wrist gauntlet, smashing the controls for his self-destruct. Dakdwade stared at the damaged controls in horror and confusion.-pg.180-181 chpt.7
