Wonder Woman, who acquired her bracelets at the age of fifteen, experienced such a fate for the first time at the hands of male underlings of Baroness Paula Von Gunther. Reflecting the fickleness of the Olympian Gods, the details of Aphrodite's decree shifted at times. In some instances, the Amazing Amazon found that she retained her strength to a diminished degree but could not actually break her bonds. At times, the chains that linked her wrists could only be removed by another man.
