  1. It depends on your upload settings in Google Photos:
  2.
  3. 1. Original Quality (No Compression)
  4. - If you choose "Original quality," your photos and videos are uploaded in full resolution without compression.
  5. - These files count against your Google Drive storage quota.
  6.
  7. 2. Storage Saver (Previously High Quality) (Compressed)
  8. - If you choose "Storage saver", Google Photos compresses your images to save space.
  9. - Photos are resized to 16 MP (if they’re larger), and videos are compressed to 1080p (if they’re higher).
  10. - This does not count against your storage (for older accounts) but now takes up space in Google Drive for most users.
  11.
  12. 3. Express Quality (More Compression)
  13. - Available in some regions, this setting applies even more compression than Storage Saver.
  14. - Photos are resized to 3 MP, and videos are reduced to standard definition.
  15.
  16. How to Check Your Current Setting:
  17. 1. Open Google Photos.
  18. 2. Tap your profile picture (top right).
  19. 3. Select Photos settings > Backup & sync > Upload size.
  20.
  21. If you want to keep your images in full resolution without compression, make sure to select "Original quality."
